OP i think you should either update the first post with sticker ordering info/examples or start a new thread. while this one is great and has some insightful comments, most people don't click on it like they would a 'get em while they're hot - E30 decals - support a great cause!' thread.
Who else is parent of a child with autism??

I have a 17 year old autistic brother. Anyone else read about the two kids that just won millions by suing the government for the vaccines causing their autism? My brother had a seizure without 24 hrs of having his vaccine as a baby... never was the same again.RIP: Delphin '89 E30 with S50 swap and lots of goodies :'(

Worked doing direct care, social work and ABA for 4 years. It was a great experience, enjoyed working with every person. I learned a lot about myself and the ones I was working with (even though it was my job, I felt a close friendship with all that I worked with).
Unfortunately since I was working on the state and non profit end of things, all the politics became very frustrating and stressful. I grew weary of dealing with the horrible "professionals", rules and guidelines in the field.
For example, there is $800 in state funding by the local DMH saved up for a client and they need a $200 drier so they can do laundry. Ok, so whats the problem here, fix it and let them be able to do the laundry and wear clean cloths....wrong. Well after filing the proper paper work and putting in a request, that money needs to be used towards clothing. In order to get that money approved it will take 3 months (huh?). Yes these rules are there for a reason but its contradicting imo.
Not to mention the times when I would do a weekly visit with some clients on to have to report they are laying in their beds half sedated and severely dehydrated and end up going to the ER asap to get their meds checked and an IV drip.
Also the doctors involved, prescribe enough meds to put an elephant down. Oh its all covered by medicare though so why not, hmm....
The system is a joke ran mostly by "for profit" people, exploiting a non profit sector. Making money seems to be the main goal of almost everyone in the chain of commands regarding all levels of the individuals lives, not to mention you have to deal with workers who only know things in theory, are new or just plain morons, with a system backing them on all this madness.
Sorry for ranting a bit but I care about equal human rights and quality of life for everyone and the way the system set up to be a safeguard is just made for self destruction in most cases.Comment

Very true. It looks like several people are interested. Everybody knows someone with autism and this is a pretty strong forum, it'd be cool to see how much support we can generate.
