why not just buy something for $5-7k that already has everything you need?
because that costs $5-7k and isn't cool, why spend 5-7k on something that's not cool?

sorry to be that guy, but maybe you should look into a Craigslist special civic or accord.

I understand loving a car, and I think your e28 is very nice, but there are always going to be better examples and different flavors of car out there to try once you get your financial situation in order.

I have the money for a car, im just trying to find a car that i like.

I can buy the Jeep im just being a tight ass. I dont want a car payment.
The Whole problem lyes in the fact my car is a euro and thats a pain in the ass for someone who doesnt have a second car.

          Thats why i said id get a 325IX or a M3 Sedan. I can afford a $8k car.

IMHO an e36 M3 is around 7-9k for a good one. So instead just buy a nice e30 for 3k and put 500-1k into it and enjoy.

            :Troll.jpeg:
Dump the e28 too, just go to a really nice e30 and be happy!

Yeah got my friend a e30 for 1k and told them to dump another 1-2k into it and it would be pretty much brand new.
did all new front suspension, clutch, detailed and a bunch of little dumb things so far. It looks 20,000 time better already

                Yup^

My Brother bought that vert that has been cared for by BMW its entire life.
Replaced the suspension and replaced a few of the old worn vacuum hoses.
Good as new and is a solid daily that looks amazing. I would trust my e30 over buying a brand new car any day.

                  Had a '97 M3 2dr 5spd. Loved it, wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

How much is a well-sorted, cared-after, e36 M3 2dr/4dr going for these days?? In Sept '07, I sold my 91k mi, orig owner(babied it, but also a somewhat careless owner), Cosmos/Dove sport, with the usual mods & prev. service(New Billys/Eibach, M50 Mani, Z3 Shifter) for $10,800. I sold it quick but still, I probably could've gotten more.

i own a 2 door ix and i would get a 4 door e36 m3 in a heart beat. e36s get a lot of hate, but that's because there are so many shitty ones out there. a really nice, properly done e36 looks awesome.

I prefer e30's as fun cars, that's why I've owned so many. I find the e36m3 to be a much more refined, well rounded daily driver. As far as character and feel, I agree the e30 is superior. But have you ever driven a stock e30? I drove an m20b25 car recently and it felt like a turd. So slow. Brakes were ok, nothing special, handing sucked. When upgraded they're great. I loved my euro s50 5 lug e30, but it was a chore to drive daily big time. Sitting in traffic in that thing sucked. my 2.7i car was meh, the obdI s52 car was a ton of fun. but that stock m20b25 car I drove the other day after driving my m3 was brutal by comparison

all that aside, I think it's a bit unfair to say e36m3's aren't cool. 240hp 3.2 24v inline 6, lsd, awesome brakes, and it's pretty damn luxurious.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I do think e36 was the worst gen of m3, but to say they aren't cool, we must agree to disagree

I almost got one myself, a 97 M3 sedan with some upgrades. Ended up with a 5 speed E39 instead. Today both cars are about 1/2 what they were 5 years ago so I would still choose the E39 but that's only because I have multiple cars. The M3 sedan is a good all round car though.

Ive been thinking about a m3/4/5 for a DD too. my poor E30 got rear ended and its probably totaled. would love to have something I wouldnt have to care as much about but could still enjoy.
