I don't recommend the Bay Area here in NorCal, lots to see but the cost of living here is atrocious. Jobs are pretty hard to come by that would support the cost of living as well. If you want to move to Cali I suggest Central Cali or along the Northern and Eastern borders of Cali.Comment

Whatever you decide to do, please stay away from California.
It's overpriced, has shitty roads, shitty laws and way too many migrants........... and if you end up in L.A., it is not family oriented town for your kids to grow up in.@IRON-E30 aka Edwin:DComment

My brother-in-law lives in California. Decided to one day sell what he has, pack his bags, and head west. Not a wise choice; he is barely getting by working two jobs. Housing there is stupidly expensive and I wouldn't trust anyone over there.1989 325i - 2.7i, Holset H1C, 60lb injectors, whodwho MS-PNP.

You may consider Phoenix.
I cant give you a list of pro's and cons simply because different people get different outcomes from their experiences.
I've been here since the mid 80's. As I have gotten older, I've learned to appreciate what the city has to offer. It's not 100% perfect, but what place is?Originally posted by blunttechAlways Always go for the reach around if there is an optionComment

We have plenty of desert and dunes are only a few hours drive into California

Yes, out of the cities and the north half is a little better, but I would NEVER go back there.Comment

And they are hiring a lot right now too with the 787 now in service and hundreds on order.
They did a lot of outsourcing with the 787 which ultimately lead to a lot of problems and delays. So, they have been pretty vocal about bringing future production and development back to the states and the Seattle area specifically.
Anyway, Boeing is a good bet if you ask me.Comment

The Pnw is somewhat big on power sports. You see a lot of dirt bikes and jet skis in the summer and a lot of snowmobiles in the winter. Not to mention on the eastern side of the state you have farmers. Get in with them and that's at least to yamaha 2 grizzleys, 1 yz450f, 1 ttr250, and 2 pw50s. Bam that's a good day.Comment
