    If your considering quitting smoking.

    Do it.

I haven't seen anything like this on here. So I thought I'd share my experience. I quit the cigarettes. And I'm not looking back. Some may say I just switched my sources of nicotine delivery, but they'd be wrong in the long run.

I smoked, for 10 years. Far less than a lot of people. I got lazy, I got unhealthy, and gained a lot of weight. 3 weeks ago I recently found myself single, and said I'm quitting.

Now, I feel fantastic. It feels wonderful to exercise again without feeling like dying. It feels wonderful to not smell like cigarettes. It feels wonderful to not need to go outside and smoke. I can smell again, I can taste the WONDERMENT that is food again. It's amazing.

If your wanting to quit. I, my brother (Who smoked for longer), and 2 other friends of mine have quit, using one thing. The Joye Ego-C. The liquid is Propylene Glycol, flavoring, and nicotine. That's it. Heated up with a coil, and produces vapor that tastes NOTHING like a cigarette (much better, depending on the millions of flavors out there), and gives you the nicotine you are addicted to, AND maintains the hand, mouth, smoke, etc habit.

You can also take the path I'm taking, and over 2 months I'm going to reduce my liquids nicotine content to zero, and put down the Ego. If I ever have a crisis (which may or may not happen), making me desire the feeling of smoking, I can pick this right back up for that little affirmation that there is no benefit to it anymore after I won't get a nicotine dosage.

It dries you out, so you need to drink a lot of water. In preperation of being dehydrated, I started drinking more water and less soda (I was at a whopping 2 liter bottle a day, if not the whole bottle, nearly one. Soda was my sole source of liquid nourishment). And within 2 days, no longer drinking soda at all.

In putting down cigarettes, starting on this, dropping the soda, and actually JOGGING (Something I hadn't done in years), I have lost 15 lbs in 18 days. I haven't changed my eating habit that much. More healthy ingredients compared to prepackaged stuff. It's enough to worry me. That's a LOT of weight, very fast. But from what I can tell so far I'm losing fat, not muscle.

Seriously, take it from a former avid smoker. It works. I can breathe. I can feel. I'm not coughing after working out, and all the tar and caked up shit coming out of my lungs tastes like riesens...

Now, to those who say that I'm just switching nicotine delivery, again I'm tapering off. On top of that, there is no actual burning of tobacco. It's vaporized PG (PG is the medium in some Asthma inhalers, and a common ingredient in food), nicotine, and food grade flavoring, nothing more. There are ZERO carcinogens.

    See the link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propylene_glycol

While it certainly isn't the best as compared to quitting cold turkey and altogether, if quitting is your eventual goal, it's certainly a hell of a lot less destructive compared to smoking. In the interest of not being spammy, I won't recommend a website. But I will say there's a nice place in Kildeer Il I get my equipment from.

Do yourself a favor. Try it. This thing came in the mail on Nov 28th. I haven't had a cigarette since. And I have ZERO desire to have one again. If you want to quit, and have tried all the other methods (I didn't try all, but most), it can't hurt. It's working for me and my family. So I extend this personal experience with the R3V family.

Congrats on quitting man, glad to hear that's going well. Sorry to hear about the single bit though. But hey, on the bright side, there's plenty of snow cows that need some lovin' up there...

hahaha jfwy. Keep with it though, smoking is just nasty.

Don't feel bad about the single bit. I don't. It's a good thing for both of us at the immediate time. While I miss her, and I love her dearly. We do both need to take care of ourselves for a little bit. We've lost touch with who we are when we at our best. Those people are still there, they haven't changed, just circumstances caused an effect that we let get to us, individually and as a couple. There may still be a future for us. There may not be. Nobody knows the future. But I don't harbor ANY bad feelings, and that option is open later on down the road on both ends. We were good, but we need to be better for it to succeed.

I've got a good head on my shoulders. I'm moving forward with life. The whole reason I actually quit smoking was because of the fact that we rolled cigarettes. We had one roller. She made a bunch of cigarettes, I brought it back with me, and ordered a kit for both of us when I walked in the door (After shoveling 13" of snow off my porch). We had been thinking about it for a LONG time. The old saying made by a very wise and prominent man "How soon, not now, becomes never.", rang VERY true.

That roller, has been thrown away. I will not smoke another cigarette.

That said. I ain't fuckin a tundra wampa. I never lost my dignity.

Congratulations dude! Smoking is an all too popular vice among society, and ultimately crutches your quality of life. There's always those people you hear about that "Smoked two packs a day and lived to 95"- but the vast majority are not that lucky. Sounds like you're really working towards positive improvements, stick with it and I wish you luck.

Congrats on choosing your health. I've been a smoker for years and quit and actually finished 3 rounds of P90X. Ran a marathon, hurt my knee, didn't work out for a year, worked on cars and started smoking again (shop friends smoke). Now I'm back to working out again with P90X and Les Mills Combat in January. I've helped several people lose weight as well which is pretty rewarding being a Beachbody Coach. Smoking will no longer be an option. My dad (earlier this year) and uncle died (2 years ago) of respiratory failure due to COPD.

So thanks for posting this and being an advocate to good health.

Way to go. I quit July 18th 2007. On July 18th 2008, I got a dog that was all my own. Every time I thought about 'maybe' smoking just one cigarette after that, I thought about losing my dog. He means way more to me than a puff of a cig. I don't know if my method would work for others, but it works for me.

It's an amazing feeling, and not an easy task, but you are doing it for the right reason. Way to go, and good luck out there!

I should really try this. I tried cold turkey, brupropion, chantix < that shit made me hostile, and thr patch. I have been smoking for 12 years now. It seems to me I can go without nicotine for a long time, but its the habbit of the cig that gets me. Maybe this would work.

Chantix gave me horrible nightmares. Waking up in the middle of the night screaming soaked in sweat genuinely fearing for my life nightmares.

I will never recommend chantix. Ever.

If you can go without the nicotine, consider getting it right away without it. I didn't want to spike my system THAT much considering finals were coming, and I was wrapping up the semester. I might just pick up some zero nicotine liquid here over break, so I have a month of being angry and hostile and hating everything, where it won't be detrimental to my education.

I should also mention, that when I purchased the kit. I got the standard atomizers. They worked for a little bit, but the LR atomizers really taste better and are much more similar to the actual cigarette. I would recommend everyone start with Low Resistance and go from there. If it's too much, get standard ones.

While I don't have the type of vape you are using, I also use an E-Cig. I find it to be a very great replacement for cigarettes as it really does curb the urge to smoke. All these nay-sayers claiming there are chemicals and what not in it and it is not FDA approved, they're all just helping the tobacco companies keep their customers.

That said, I have tried the type you are using and find it to have very great flavors and a stronger hit when puffing it. I use the South Beach Smoke e-cig, and while I find that it does its job, I doesn't provide the same great taste and hit all the time like how the one you are using does. I just like it for its convenience. Congrats on quitting!:-D

I tried one of the disposable Njoy vapes a while ago; It's supposed to equal 2 packs worth of nicotine but i killed that one before the end of the night. to preface: i smoke 5-10 cigs per day. Personally, I want to try quitting with the vapes but I really do like the feel of smoking so much more than the actual nicotine. Also I do most of my smoking while driving to/from work/class.

A friend of mine quit by breaking a pencil in half and holding it between his fingers whenever he got the urge. I plan on trying the same, at least while I'm driving.

I tried the disposable one. It didn't create nearly enough vapor or nicotine to satisfy, and I wrote the whole idea off as useless. It was this useless thing. Waste of money.

This thing is one a whole different level. My brother smoked a pack a day (Sometimes more), and a tank lasts him 2 days. Me, not so much. But that's because of our different lifestyles and locations. I don't smoke it inside public places, in respect for those who never smoked. And I really just don't want to needlessly offend anyone.

And that was the biggest concern of mine. Driving. To put it simply, every once in a while I find myself rolling down the window to exhale outside. Laugh, then promptly roll it up. No need to exhale outside, keeps the heat in the car (SO NICE), and makes me smile every time knowing my brain subconsciously thinks it's the same thing. Don't think of them as (X-packs per day/per amount), if you get one. Just use it to what's comfortable and feels right. Sure, you can measure it up against cigarettes. But with this, I never needed to. I don't care.

Congrats. Jake on the quitting. It was the best thing I ever did for myself.
I was going to say sorry for the break in your relationship as wellbut it seems that you have made peace with that part, and I hope it works out for the best whatever that may be.

Staying away from smokes is tough. Good for you.
