So I figured I would post a new picture of my Jeep after last nights event.

Sometime between 12 am and 9 am this morning someone decided to relieve my Jeep of the 2 Rear Jerry Cans (one of which was a trail can that does not hold fuel but instead has hidden compartments for tools; hold down bracket with custom welding and powdercoat; lug nuts for spare ; and firestick CB antenna.

Really stupid move on their part. The stole maybe 300 dollars of items and took a chance on jail or worse.

They left the spare and rim right next to my Jeep and must have been nearly motionless when removing these items. My alarm was set and my motion sensor is pretty sensitive cause its always doorless and roofless.

My night vision cameras were actually turned off for maintainence or things would have been quite different. Fixed that today! Its motivational when someone robs your shit! :P

Ive got outstanding insurance and I will be rebuilding with even more primo parts! Jerry cans were getting a bit weather beaten in spots anyway.

This time I am going to stealth wire reed switches that are tied into my auxillary channels of my alarm so if a Jerry can is lifted it completes the circuit and alarm fires. I will also increase my motion sensor zones that my camera triggers on.

Times are tough out there friends so make sure that you maintain excellent insurance that includes theft and vandalism. Keep receipts and adopt a mentality of "Its not if its going to happen , but when"

I knew it was coming and it took some Thomas Crowne bastard to pull it off.

So here is a rendition of my current Jeep "mod" LOL

This is mine. It's about as shitty as it looks.

Here's when I got it home.

    After cleaning it a little.

Where it sat from ~1981 til 2007.

Nothing worked when I got it. Trans and transfer case were both rusted frozen, the gas tank was full of holes and obviously it didn't run. Brakes were fucked, as you'd expect. After a bit of work, we (dad and I) got the trans and t-case freed up, replaced maybe half the brake lines, new MC, and got a 5 gal can as a gas tank. Managed to get the engine running in more or less as-found condition.

This is what I shoveled out of the bed:

Haven't touched it in a while, but I wanna get a proper cage on it, some 30s, lockers, and another motor, since the PO put one from a CJ2A in it... and because the current motor is completely fucked, and burns about as much oil as it does gas lol.

I just finished a round of work on my girlie's 2002 TJ.

Put a BDS 3" lift on it with a terraflex adj front track bar, new 33 X 12.5 goodyear duratracs. Also, some bushwacker flares.

Driving it around the yard it feels much more supple and refined than before.

I bought this a little while ago to fill the void left when I sold my Jeep, almost 6yrs ago.

No, it'll never measure up to a Cherokee, but it uses way less fuel, is a little bit smoother and quieter, plenty of tq, and off-road capable. 16-17l/100km is a bit too much.

Would anyone happen to know where I can buy a clip end connector thing for the throttle cable to auto box kickdown on a 4.0? It is a black plastic that connects to the trottle body and ours broke. Did a zip-tie fix but it shifts wrong.
I know I can get the whole cable for 60 bucks, but I'd rather just replace the connector.

Doesn't compare to some of these offroad animals, but it does pretty good on the street.
