I'm a little grumpy, but not so much since I'm trying to keep myself occupied.

day 16 now.
I seriously think I'm just a careless meanspirited asshole by nature now.
still tough, but getting microns better each day.
my clothes no longer sink, my hands don't stink, and it's not the last thing I smell before I go to sleep because it's no longer on my hands/body (even tho my house has always been smoke free)
food is tasting WAY better, and oddly, I've saved up almost $100 in 3 weeks since not buying smokes....everytime I'd buy smokes ($12/pack) I'd always get beef jerky....or a enerygy drink, or something else I actually didn't need...to bring the total to almost $20 per transaction)...so saving $$ too.
the BIGGEST improvement is in my running (lol yes I'm a runner)
I can bang out 5KM's (~2.2miles) in about 31 minutes EASY...and can keep going....
when I smoked, my lungs/chest would want to quit first...now I just run untill my legs start aching/burning...Originally posted by flyboyxi have watched my dog lick himself off a few times

Congrats! 21 days is a big one, then 90 days, then the one year point! After that, you won't really have many noticeable days, except for when you see people outside, freezing their ass off to puff, and you will be inside, all warm and cozy!
One piece of helpful information, in a year or so, when you think, "Oh, I can have a cig, I'm not gonna want more..."
DON'T DO IT!

I smoke socially and when I am drinking and have for about 6 months or so. I quit for abou 3 weeks, and didn't ever really crave them, but as a result of my environment and friends I have begun smoking again. It is rare that I smoke a pack in 5 days. So its not too terrible.

I am going to be six years August 21, it is the single best thing i ever did for myself, and as a side note, there is no worse anti-smoker than an ex-smoker.
I cant even explain how much i hate the smell of smoke. It disgusts me more than anything.
Good luck to you, you already made the toughest part. Just stick to it.

It's been since new years eve for me and although I don't crave cigs, never have and never will, I still want to light one every time I'm at the bar and everybody else at the table does, it's also hard cause my girl still smokes so I still gotta buy them, and be around them all the time but I feel better not coughing everyday nowShawn @ Bimmerbuddies

Have you guys experienced mood swings and a lot of angry aggression? It's been 6 days so far.
Last night some asshole in a truck almost rear ended me in a parking lot, then maneuvered around me. I pulled up next to him and cursed him out like crazy, he got out of his car to argue face to face in the middle of the road then I peeled out. I proceeded to park and get a 6'' screw driver out of my trunk and confront him, but I realized what was going to happen so I went on about my business. After I cooled down I was pretty shocked that I was about to do something so insane. I wasn't going to stab the bitch, just scare him and show him not to fuck with me. Idk.
I've never gotten in a fight in my life. After the incident all I could think about was smoking because of how pissed I was. Idk if its because some mother fucker almost totaled my e30 or because I've been on edge about not smoking, or both.
So is this aggression normal, or am I fucked up?sigpic

That's a bit overboard but mood swings are normal. It's good you didn't go back. Even though you didn't plan on hurting the guy, situations like that can escalate and get out of control quickly. Who knows, he might have pulled a gun on you. Or pulled a hand weapon, swung at you then you did stab him. Then you would be in jail time trouble resulting from over reacting to a non-incident98 M3/4/5

Good job to all of you who have quit/are quitting. I'd say it's normal to get all pissed at things you wouldn't get pissed before you quit. A smoke would help you deal with the asshole before. Now 'YOU' have to deal with the asshole without help. It's harder, but only til you get used to it, then it's easier. Keep the faith brothers and sisters!Originally posted by Andy.BWhenever I am about to make a particularly questionable decision regarding a worryingly cheap diy solution, I just ask myself, "What would Ether-D do?"

But any who, when I'm not on the verge of making irrational decisions I've been happier and waking up about 2.5 hours earlier each day with more energy.sigpic
