But I do and only thing I see wrong is that the car with t tops likes to twist due to its torque. And along with this so called low quality in other American cars and trucks that I have owned over the years I guess I woulnt of owned them either due to peoples stereotyping. But I have owned them and been reliable vehicles. Its just the amount of American hate on here that makes one sick. It's just sad to see it when one has had the stuff that people call crap on here. And be like, how did they come to this concussion? From one bad experience? From hearsay? First hand on many times? General lack of knowledge?

Goddamn the first half of this thread pissed me off, I'm glad there was some pushback in the second half...
Please! stop critiquing a car by telling me what it reminds you of, automotive design is derivitive most of the time and follows trends just like music, art, fashion, technology, pretty much any field. Your e30 looks just like about 30 other cars that came out at the time, ya think BMW just came out of that boxy shape out of thin air. They didn't, shut up. Judge the car for what it is.
I agree that the new 'Vette is imperfect aesthetically but for the most part I'm positive on it. I'm really glad that they've taken it in much more aggressive design direction. It has the performance to compete with supercars, why not make it look like one? I'm excited that GM is taking some chances with their flagship and most recognized car, this is a big step forward design wise. Let me say here I'm a big fan of the c6, I've been singing its praises to import snobs since it came out and I generally view American cars with skepticism like many of you. The c6 was a great car but it was too conservative design-wise to back it up and not in the cool e39 M5 way. It was a safe (boring) looking supercar that was meant to follow its lineage and not offend anyone.
No way to transition into this I just want to say that round or oval taillights would look completely out of place on this car, it has no roundy design elements anywhere so adding them would just be an obvious compromise for nostalgia's sake, I'm glad they went with what actually fits the car ( I still agree the rear end as a whole could use some work)
Hope I can start some rational discussion about this car, I'd love to hear your retorts.
Cliffs: Car isn't perfect but kudos to GM for breaking with boring tradition and using aggressive design to push the car into the ranks of the other cars with similar performance.

Lots of uninformed opinions in this thread.
*This is base model and Z51 Corvette. Faster versions guaranteed to follow.
*7 speed MANUAL transmission with auto blip that can be turned on and off (370Z has similar technology) as well as 6 speed automatic.
*Magnetic Ride Control is optional on Z51 trim.
*The vents on the body are functional for aero improvement and airflow cool to engine/brakes/tranny/etc.
*Chassis is stiffer and lighter than the C6.
*The Corvette pushrod V8 is light, gets good mileage, good power, is reliable, and is relatively cheap to mod and get additional power normally aspirated.1989 325iC Zinnoberrot
