I have lost 5 pounds in the past week.
I changed my diet to lots of fiber, chicken, veggies, fruit, protein, fish, etc. I drink LOTS of water. I drink about 4-6 quarts during the school day, then during/after the gym I drink another 1-2.
I have felt a lot better in the past few weeks than I have in a long time. I am excited to see some long term effects.
My weakness has been In N Out. I eat there at least once a weekend. I lose weight steadily through the week, then gain a little over the weekend.
Eggs make me fart everywhere, so I tend to stay away form those.

...and it's FAT TUESDAY today!!
:o
I have lost about 25 pounds in the last 8 months. I haven't done too much and it's easy to slip back. I am using the whole Lent idea to cut out pop (soda, as you Americans call it). I mostly drank diet but found that I eat other things along with it that are bad. I know diet pop has its own set of issues :)
I started a simple weight lifting program in the basement after we canceled the gym membership.
Monday - Bench and Deadlifts
Tuesday - Pullups and Squats
Thursday - repeat Monday
Friday - Repeat Tuesday
keep track of what you lift and you will very quickly ramp up the strength. You can either do high weights/low reps or lower weight/high reps. I switched it up every 4 weeks.
I also do a bit of cardio on the elliptical. We bought a Livestrong one, so Lance and I go for a climb every now and then. He's got a lot of free time lately.
I cut down on the carbs quite a bit too. For the first 2 weeks I cut them down to very minimal and then brought them back slowly to a decent level.
It's fairly simple. Guys have the secret weapon that starts with a capital T. That special hormone that turns us into monsters.Last edited by mechdonald; 02-12-2013, 05:34 PM.

I'm 5 10, and weigh in at 101kg (222lbs). Used to gym like a freak, but after meeting my GF of now 3yr's her fast metabolism has crept up on me.
At my finest I was 89kg (196lbs) with 11% body fat.
Finding it hard to get in the gym, and eat more healthily (as I've never eaten super clean before due to the amount of gym I did) with my job as I'm out the house super early and on the road and come back pretty late.

I just started my new diet and weight training program yesterday. I haven't lifted weights in probably 7 years (I'm only 28 ) so I had a friend of mine put together a diet and routine for me. It's probably more extreme than what most of y'all are going through.
I'm 5'10" 185lbs and my goal is to cut belly fat, build strength and muscle mass - so I want to stay around 180lbs but cut away my belly fat and bulk up.
For my diet I'm only eating the following (all 3 meals):
8oz Chicken or Fish
4oz Broccoli/Asparagus/Cauliflower
4oz Potatoes/Corn/Kidney Beans/Black Beans
For breakfast I add 2 egg whites and at lunch I have a Whey Protein Shake.
No Fruits, Yogurt, Alcohol, etc. Just season with a few herbs, spices and minimal salt and I'm good to go.
Once I've cut the weight that I want, I'll start introducing breads, fruit, red meat and other regular foods. This helps speed up the process and condition my body to only accept the carbs I need and to feed off the fat already stored.
As for the routine, I do 60mins of cardio every day and I do Chest/Arms - Legs - Abs - Chest/Arms - Legs - Abs - Abs each week (starting on Mondays).
I should start seeing physical results in 6-8 weeks which is awesome!

Just checking back in here for the first time since the new year. Good to see most are sticking to it!
Personally, I started out at 220 and tried a low calorie diet, but I leveled out and stopped losing at 210. Just started trying a low carb diet and I am loving it so far. Enjoying steak, chicken, salmon, with salad for lunches. Oh, and lot's of eggs.
Dropped below the 210 mark this morning, wasn't by much but it's the lowest I've been. I work out some, but being on my feet all day I don't worry about whether or not I'm getting enough exercise. I also shadow box a lot, used to take kick boxing but there aren't any good places around here that teach it.No E30 ClubOriginally posted by MrBurgundyAnyways, mustangs are gay and mini vans are faster than your car, you just have to deal with that.

Cut dairy, processed foods/sugars, soda, and "cook" your own food..eat whole foods; greens, nuts, veggies, fruits, & drink water dammit. Unhealthy food has a way of changing the preference of your taste. The less you eat of it, the better whole natural foods will taste. Being active couldnt hurt either
