Just got back from SoCal...all I gotta say is..

It's cause you kids are young and don't make enough money to really enjoy LA. You can see older members like reeliz and myself that make decent money really enjoy the culture/diversity/opportunity/cars/women that the greatest city on earth offers.

If you can't make it in LA than you're free to move to a lesser area. NYC/Chicago/Miami come to mind. if you can't make it int those cities than most goto that shithole called vegas or the boonies like Idaho or whatever fucking mountain range you like.

Make 150k in LA and don't fuck hookers and do heroin everyday and you'll live like a king and see what a vast city with over 224 languages and over 10 million people can do for you.

Oh yeah and we have pretty women and nice cars too....

Yep, California is awesome for the upper crust. Long commutes, inflated living costs for amenities you're too broke to take advantage sounds awesome.

When I'm retired at 50 and have enjoyed all the good stuff offered by each state and move on, I'll be devastated that I'm not 75 and still working to afford my shitty condo.

I'm living in San Diego right now making more money than I ever have. It was fun for the first year,then I had my son, now I find my self wanting to move back Tennessee so my Son can enjoy the freedoms I had as a child.
I fear he may never know the pure joy one gets from peeing off the front porch while watching deer drink from the pond.

Anyways Cali is alright. All we really have to worry about is earthquakes & a the possibility of a tsunami. Which ever direction you go for about 50 miles the scenery seems to change drastically which is cool.

true. except the AV is quite possibly the worst place to live in socal. born and raised there and glad to gtfo.its a drive to get anywhere. dirt is the backyard, good snow, 4hours. shit snow, 45 min. Beach, 1h 45mn. lake 45mn. that place has gone to shit in a matter of 5 year. now residing in SD and loving it.

but, im back there often because of family. in the dirtydale right now for Easter. hate it.

I enjoyed the LA area only for a short while (during college) before getting fed up with commuting, the overall attitude of rats packed in a cage, and hideous city overall. Also hated the obcenely high crime rate. I felt like many many parts should be joined to Compton. Hollywood for its pizazz is so very trashy, no matter how much fun I have going to vintage guitar trade shows and good jazz there. Another buzzkill is seeing great cars cruising around, while many owners desire to own a $100k+ car and live in a condo/apartment instead. Too much flash and attitude IMO for the area.

I say move to Santa Barbara, Santa Ynez, San Louis Obispo, near SF Bay, but stay the heck away from the LA area. Then again, living in the mentioned places can cost much more than many parts of LA, but having great building codes and zoning makes for a much prettier city.

Only when you've lived in the dale do u understand the dale. Story of my life. Best part about this shit hole is easy 30 mins from Willowsprings, 30 mins to Mt. high, he'd start on the way to Vegas, access to some decent canyon roads. That's all I can think of.

Haha yeah coming from Colorado it's much different! I used to live in the springs and most my family from there keep moving here tho surprisingly

To me tho its no different than living in extreme cold. Go from the house to the car to wherever you're going and keep the heat cranked. Here we just crank that AC! If you have it ;) I deleted mine and people think I'm crazyyyyy

U must be cray cray. Never had working ac in my cars. Now I need it badly + girls would thank me when they no longer fuse with boiling hot leather. Also hate riding in the car with a chick & the windows down. Getting whipped in the face with hair should be considered a driving hazard.
