Nice build! Loving all the custom work on the frame. Sub'd! Been wanting a ped for awhile now. I work on Capital Hill (Above Downtown Seattle) and I see quite a few of these two stroke mopeds driving around town. They DEFINITELY don't look or sound stock!Leave a comment:

It is not worth 250, I see them pop up all the time for under 150 running. If you REALLY want one wait it out, they come up all the time. Or message my buddy and let him know I sent you.
He is a GREAT friend of mine and deals in buying and selling vintage peds. He knows his stuff and is a straight shooter with pricing and selling. Not the guy to throw you under the bus.

Can your neighbor make more of those disc brake adapters? I would be in the market for one so that I had it on hand once I started a build.Leave a comment:

This is fantastic. I am so jealous! I was in the army in Germany in the late '70s (yeah, I'm old) and mopeds were everywhere. I was really into 2 stroke tuning and had this dream of trying to set a speed record with one. That never happened but watching this thread reminded me of that. Keep up the great work and I want to see it when it's done. Oh yeah, really nice job on the frame.

A metal turning lathe can be a thing of beauty in the right hands. Amazingly reasonable on the cost of the parts to put together the brake setup.

My neighbor has a machine shop 20 feet from my house. He turned it down since it is his stuff. I am in the middle of buying my own <3 Cannot wait to start making goodies.Nice bling bling bit there! You have it turned by a local machine shop?
I may have to do one of these Ped builds once I finish up the fatty Ruckus I have been building for ages. Honestly I would want to steal alot of the ideas that you have included in your build.
I also have a Show Scooter that is built on the Honda Helix platform. So I into scooters and potentially Peds as well.
Do whatever you like bud! that is why I make threads. I get tons of PMs from my builds on how nice and easy it makes building stuff.
Total cost of the brakes:
Avid BB7 brakes: 68.00
M5x0.8/M6x1 taps: 10.00 shipped from ebay
Adapter: scrap aluminumLeave a comment:

I give you the front brake hub adapter for disk brakes.

Now I just need to make a plate to attach the caliper to the forks. Also need to tap the pattern, had to buy a tap off ebay. Should be ready to go soon! Now I am focusing on the swing arm and Cafe style seat/cowl.

I'm like less than 3 miles from everything in my town.If you live in an area where everything is close these are amazing. Low-mid 100mpg...fill up once a week depending on your commute haha.
Thanks Frank, currently the only thing I have left that I can make is the swing arm. I cannot place the tank without the forks, and I cannot make the seat without the tank in the final place on the frame.
May end up picking one up this summer!Leave a comment:
