Mike Burroughs the Kanye West of the BMW community.

It'll be interesting to see where this one goes.

I think some custom valve covers made to resemble the ones on a Ford flathead (or similar), and some velocity stacks or a custom intake would make it look much more at home. It would still be too tall, but I doubt there's an easy solution for that.

So much hate in here, funny seeing some of the people so easy to tear him apart are the normal cookie cutter BMW owners: Mild drop, some sort of BBS wheels and polished paint with OEM bits.
I personally saw a picture of it on SW from my morning read of the amazing Blog. Jaw dropped, I was floored to see a hot rod powered by a BMW plant.
It is very apparent that more than half of this forum does not enjoy a rat rod. Google search, I think he nailed it on the head without conforming to the standard rat rod recipe.

His money, his time and his truck. I do not see how this affects anyone. It was built right and not some cobbed POS that will fall apart.
I approve and would love to see it. Would have liked it even more with an m30 carb in there, but life happens and you have to make due.

    Carry on Mr. MB

For me being around classic cars all my life and now around a few foregin cars, I can see the workmanship on this truck and give major props to it. But looking at it, the engine looks out of place. Not that it sticks up to much. But it just looks like i call it a "modern lump" Even if it had a LSx or some other modern domestic engine in it, i'd say the same thing. Kind of like it just don't flow with the overall design/concept of the truck. I do agree with others that a m30 would of been cool! Cause yeah people do put inline 6 and 8 cylinders in "rat rods".

The front is traditional - leaf spring over an A 5" drop axle with '41 spindles. The back has coilovers. I'll be sharing photos and video tomorrow. :)
It weighs about 1500lbs. I'm hoping to get it on a scale soon for an exact measurement.

Thank you. As said, I've only just gotten it driving, it's far from complete, one step at a time. A lot of people seem to think the motor should shine, but after much debating with myself, I wanted to leave it as I found it - the same with the finish of the car.

But there are plenty of guys on this forum who would jizz their pants for that car exactly because of the paint job.

Most of the "stance" cars IMO are not my cup of tea. But at least they're wrenching and enjoying their cars instead of playing Halo or robbing liquor stores.

I actually like this project better than most of their stuff because the wheels aren't cambered all goofy.

If you're creating art and there isn't anyone who hates it, its doubtful anyone will ever love it either.

M60's with the right exhaust can sound bad-ass as well.
    Well said :)

I know that with anything I build, there will be people who appreciate it, like it, and dislike it. For those who dislike it, I know that a portion of them won't take the time to look at the car, but instead only the name attached to it. But for anyone who has reasonable comments and criticism, despite how negative it may be, I welcome it to no end!
