Typically a life sentence is cheaper to carry out then a death penalty sentence.
I know this, but all the to-do they put into a death sentence simply doesn't have to be. A simple bullet to the brain would do it, and we all know there are plenty in the US. I'm sure the people he killed (if given the choice) would love to have died on a table, "humanely" rather than by this monsters hands.
It really baffles me how we can make it such a to-do to kill someone, so much so that keeping them alive, leeching off the system, for decades, is cheaper.
Anywho, not trying to turn this into a P&R.....it's just crazy this guy just died.
My buddy who used to be a jockey in OC actually stayed in a home of one of his victims(a mother/daughter couple). He only stayed 5 mos, but he kept saying that weird ish kept happening at the house.

It's not the actual cost of the execution that drives the overwhelming cost to execute someone. It's the appeals, court-appointed lawyers, expert testimony, ect

And then add in that typically takes as long as their life expectancy once entering the system.

This reminds me of a certain case I can't really recall the name of.
Little kid gets big time molested. I think in Texas? After the life sentencing, and guided out of the courtroom, the father of the kid pulls out a handgun and kills the accused pointblank with a shot in the head while walking. Its captured on video somewhere.
Anyways, the father doesn't get much of a charge put against him and is let go early or something pretty soon.
^Only 5 years probation! Theres no wy I could put someone like that in jail for killing a guy that molested his child. I don't care what the "laws" are, I couldn't morally do it.
