Yeah, this guy scared the crap out of Californians in the late 80's.
So sorry for the people that he killed. But VERY happy he is dead.

Um Montana HAS NEVER used a firing squad in capital punishment nor is was it even an option. Only UT and NV have used it and only UT has in recent memory at the request of the prisoner ID banned the method in 2009, and OK has it as a secondary option and is the last in the nation to have it remain as such

yep. life sentence = 500k. death penalty = 1.5m. definitely cheaper. also, sitting in a cell for 25 years is torture. no one wants that. death is quick and easy way out. i think a life sentence on death row is worse punishment than a death penalty.

from the legislative analyst office, an independent california organization-

-It costs an average of about $47,000 per year to incarcerate an inmate in prison in California.
-Over two-thirds of these costs are for security and inmate health care.
-Since 2000-01, the average annual cost has increased by about $19,500. This includes an increase of $8,300 for inmate health care and $7,100 for security.

do the math- $500k would come pretty quick at $47k per year. like about 10.6 years, not 25. beore this quick google of 'prisoner cost per year' i had doubts of the $500k based on outdated info of $30k per year.

the implication that a death sentence hanging over one's head makes the torture worse is interesting. actually delivering justice every once in a while could only serve to worsen the torture.

I know some will say that you can't put a price on justice, but I find it absurd that we spend so much money on good for nothing prisoners.

Prisoners in the United states get Better health care than most hard working "INSURED" americans

Prisoners get better room and board than the millions of homeless people in the country.

Shit i have seen homeless people commit crimes just so they can have a semi hard plastic covered jail pillow and mattress for a weekend

We could always implement public hangings and executions like North Korea, it's pretty effective and their justice system is to die for...

I remember sleeping with a loaded gun, waking in the middle of the night, to make sure, again, that everybody's windows were securely closed.
It was during the middle of a summer heat wave, just suffocating with the lack of circulation.
That bastard had everyone freaking out.
I was hoping he would try my window, so I could blow him away myself.
The mob that took him down; they were kicking his head in. Too bad they didn't finish his ass off then. Instead he laughed his ass off at everybody during trial. Later he gets to waffleswaffleswaffleswaffles and get married. Not right.
