In a general sense, yes, they are here to protect and serve, but the militarization of the police is out of control and the general attitude of the police is "us vs them". They will lie to you and abuse their authority if you even annoy them. Even more so if you are asserting your rights. This has got to change. Kudos to this kid for pushing back.
That's right. Why can't you assert your rights without the police trying to "teach you a lesson"? I call that unprofessional. The thin blue line protects its own to the point that the bad apples spoil the whole barrel. I hope that more people assert their rights in this manner, the police aren't going to do the right thing without pressure from the public.
