have read up on them. What they do is so fucked up. You all need to watch the movie food inc.

It sheds so light on what's going on with our food.

Grab a Beer and enjoy. Life is too short to worry.

Also, if you want to live longer like >100 year old, you will be disabled, lonely/abandoned by your own family, shit and pee on your pants and in a miserable Home-for-the-Aged facility! do you still want to live longer?

Think again.... now go eat your Fried Chicken!!!
I'm not saying this because I want to live to be 100. I'm saying I want to enjoy my food knowing its not pumped with chemicals and antibiotics.

And I would rather be pissing and shitting my pants from natural causes not some company that gave me cancer.

        Just sayin

My friends used to make fun of my parents for raising chickens and using meat that my Uncle raises from beef cows. I am 100% against processed foods, and yes the shit you buy in the store is garbage. If it is not farm raised, you can bet it is pumped with all types of shit.

I will enjoy killing chickens for the rest of my life and slaughtering a cow each year. People wonder why cancer and other illness are so common now. You are what you eat.

Food inc is not where you should be getting your information on this kinda thing

That said, you all act so surprised by this kinda thing

Exactly what I eat, and why I don't eat fast food or processed food anymore. I haven't eaten fast food in over 6 months. Only eat organic meats, also.

Same with eggs. Try organic/fresh eggs, you'll never be able to eat regular store-bought ones again. The average carton of eggs in the grocery store contains eggs that are anywhere from 4-8 weeks old by the time they actually GET to the store.

1+ on fresh eggs, we get all ours from a farm up the road. Picked each morning for 3 bucks for a dozen.

That is a horror story right there...

My wife and I just bought a small farm, and have already added to our chicken flock. fresh egg's every day, and in a couple months fresh chickens, never been fed or shot full of hormones/antibiotics etc...
looking to add a couple of pig's and 1-2 goats, a meat cow, and 1 milker in the next little while. should be self sufficient food wise within a year.

once you become somewhat aware of all the crap involved in Corporate food production, it kind of hurts your mind to consider eating processed food as "normal". and I might add, pretty much everyone lived this way up until WW2 or so, it isn't some weird "alternative lifestyle" thing. self sustainability is pretty awesome.

you are my hero. i wouldn't raise pigs(they smell ten times worse than all the other animals you listed combined). you might consider sheep though if you like the taste of lamb/mutton. not as hardy as a goat but they taste better.

how many acres do you have?

I would love to do this when I'm older and have more money. Until then its this bull shit that I'm forced to eat.

haha, thanks. yea pigs are pretty bad if you have several for sure, I would raise one for food, and one to sell to pay for the food one.

we are thinking goats for cheese/milk. but sheep are a good thought as well. I know if you spin your own wool, it can sell for good dollars.

i have to be pretty careful of what crops I plant though as I want to stay chemical free, and only have about 7 acres of open field. the house lot with the home, shop, large barn, and storage barn are roughly 2 more acres. I have all the animal room I need, but maybe not as much field as I would have liked.

It's nice to see you care about eating poison. Most people unfortunately don't. But hopefully more and more people like yourself will become educated and the general public will begin to demand better quality.
Giving up meat is really not a big deal. I don't understand why so many people act like eating meat is somehow attached to their manliness or personal freedom. Go ahead and youtube some videos on how chicken nuggets are made. You'll be a vegetarian in no time.

I just like to eat meat because I like it. I honestly don't even eat very much red meat anymore, maybe like 1-2 times per month, really. I love chicken and fish though, pork too. I don't think I could live without chicken.
