      Drive it.

As long as all your maintenance is up to date and the car is running well, you'll be fine.

Grab some spares, like belts, oil, coolant, a small tool kit and go.

Get it looked over. Drive it.

          Quick Story:
Never drove an e30 across the country, but I did drive one for 14 consecutive hours once. Ran great until I downshifted to 4th (nice and easy) on the off ramp and it wouldn't come out of 4th for the remaining 20 miles of hills and stop and go city traffic. That was fun. Change your transmission fluid if you haven't already.

Drive it, I drove mine form MI to MT after it sat all winter and only had about 30 miles on it after getting it all put back together. Nearly issue free other than a minor tossed belt and slight over heat in SD on the 1st 85 degree day of the year..........

The car was made to be driven. This type of opportunity is not common.
