Range Rover vs. Bikers

Moron gets bumped by RR, he stops, then bikers approach RR and start beating it and slash a run-flat tire, THEN he runs over a biker to get away from an obviously hostile situation, chase ensues, he gets caught in traffic and they proceed to smash his windows, drag him from the car and use a weapon on him and beat him into the hospital.

Lets see, at roughly 27 seconds into the video the SUV makes contact with the white bike. 29 seconds into the video you hear the horns honk alerting the other bikes of something up. Up to 47 seconds you see everyone stop and start looking back in the pack... you see several guys get off their bikes.... Maybe to help the guy that just got 2 broken legs and is reportedly in a coma

By 51 seconds into the video you see the SUV start plowing over bikes in an apparent attempt to flee...

So by the time of 47 seconds to 51 seconds people got off their bikes, pulled out a knife,slashed tires, and start assaulting the SUV?

That's probably the problem the video I watch the Range is stopped longer then that. You can clearly see people already off their bikes at 37 seconds. But thanks for letting us know that you are delusional.

The guy got his legs broken was the one who got run over when the Rover fled.

The asshat who break checked the Rover sustained no injuries.

Sure looked like they were trying to assault the Rover to me.

....and you're probably picturing someone actually SLASHING when just STABBING can produce the desired result in a shorter amount of time.

I have a heard time believing someone SLASHED through a runflat sidewall. STABBING is more like it.

UPDATE TWO: The New York Times published an article on the incident and they revealed three new pieces of information.

• The first motorcycle rider hit by the Range Rover got a broken leg (this is the only motorcycle injury the police have information on).

I dont call that a break check at all. IT was not an abrupt stop or extreme slowing down of the bike.

The driver of the truck is at fault for hitting someone from behind.

When I was learning to drive I remember being taught to give the vehicle in front of me AT LEAST 1 vehicle length for every 10 mile per hour worth of speed to allow for reaction time. How many vehicle lengths does this look like;



He is clearly aware of his proximity to the Rover and got there on purpose, he could have gassed it for half a second and given the driver plenty of space. Regardless of if he used his brakes or not just letting off the throttle would cause the bike to slow faster than the Rover would be capable of at pretty much any speed with that amount of reaction time that the biker CHOSE to give him. The biker was at fault, and no doubt what followed was a mix of emotion & adrenaline from the rest of the riders as well as the driver of the RR.

Not sure why he didn't throw it in reverse when he got caught in traffic at the end. It was obvious they were going to assault him. Especially with the guy trying to rip his door open.

Because there were bikes and other cars behind him.

Even if that wasn't the case, how does driving in reverse, in the wrong direction on a limited access highway get you out of the situation?
