I have a friend from Ontario canada, who lives in Georgia now.
I bug her when I see stuff like this, but I WILL defend those southern states. cause there isnt a snow plow, OR SALT or SALTER for a hundred KM.
they have to wait for the natural heat to melt it all.

Just buy four hair dryers and mount them in front of your tires. Turn them on, BAM, instant dry road.

That write up was really good that Rich posted, here in NY we deal with more than most in the USA. That is why the trucks are out salting a day ahead of the storms, even then it is not easy to get around in AWD.

Now take that to a place, that seems to always have their pants down in winter. I lived in MO for a year or so, the SAME things happened there, as they did in ATL. People were stranded and stuck in a joke of state wide road closure. I wore my NYS plates well that winter.

My thoughts go out to all the people stuck in that shitty state.

I don't know that having to deal with a cumulative snowfall total of a few feet per century really qualifies Georgia as a place "that seems to always have their pants down in winter..."

Well it's not like they didn't see the storm coming and were unable to anticipate the problems it left them with. They opted to take the "Fuck it, let's see how it plays out and go from there" approach and it bit the state in the ass.

Kids being stranded at school was tremendously short sighted on the part of the districts. Recently in MN schools have been called off in anticipation of <-20 degree weather so children didn't freeze to death waiting for their busses.

People in MN can barely drive on lightly powdered roads, and we do it all the time. I can only imagine the state of emergency you guys are experiencing down there.

Also, we measure distance here in miles like any other free state. Watch your mouthes with your "KM" talk you canuk bastards.

@Rich, just busting man...I have been in a state that worked just like that, I never saw a plow that whole winter. They just shut down and waited it out. All jokes aside, I feel really bad for all those that got hurt/died.

Only in the southern USA, will people blame mayoral council for the weather.

                            Talk about typical media sensationalism.
