If "here" is dreamland where crime is absolutely non-existent. Then by all means...stay there.

Let the Kalifornians have their little jab at AZ, they're just jealous that we are a free state.

there was a little bit of a joke in there. i lived in Phoenix for a while, not a nice part. i lived on the border of Gardena and Compton in SoCal for a while; definitely worse. let's not get all srsbzns here.

(but if you want a jab: ask everyone in Arpaio's Tent City how they're enjoying their "free state".)

Yeah Nor-Cal, everyone smokes weed so they are too lazy to commit a crime.

Lol, no worries man I took your post in good nature. As for tent city, I have no problem with it...and everyone there deserves to be uncomfortable. It's about time we stopped coddling our criminals with climate control and clean sheets. Fuck em, don't be a dirtbag. :D

Some like Systema, some Krav Maga or Silat. I kind of fell into Daito Ryu/Wing Chun combo after having wrestled in college and experimenting with a lot of styles along the way. Many styles can be effective including even American boxing (in the right situation) but as was stated above a lot comes down to your mental toughness and experience. Having a good instructor cannot be overstated either. Some are good at marketing but not so good at imparting useful information. Just being in good physical condition could also save your life.

I was a prison guard for 6 years and learned a lot from that. Luckily I only HAD to use real self defense once in the street. There was some luck involved there too but it ended up ok.

On a side note I recommend The Little Black Book of Violence as a good primer.
