Best purchase you have made in the past five years or so...

For my family I think it's the iPad. Each of us uses it at least once a day, it has never broken or malfunctioned, and does exactly what is supposed to do.

I can't think of anything else that comes close to the iPad in terms of usefulness and reliability.

    How about you?

my cherokee. 1200 up front, and probably another 1000 or so in maintenance and upgrades since. has only failed me ONCE in 2 years due to neglected battery terminals. it's got 241k miles and i drive it very hard for its age. its 5spd, reasonably torquey and quick, and goes wherever i need it to, in the snow, rain, dirt, etc while still getting almost 20mpgs. such a great car.

I figured you were gonna say your SteamFast SF-407 Fabric Steamer for all your suits. I knew you wouldn't say some brand of Tattoo balm or fairtrade beard oil nor ironic Ray-Bans.
