Longest you have gone without spending money

For me it was three days. And I was proud of myself. Ate at home / took lunch to work, didn't need to put gas in the cars, no bills were due...

Anybody gone a week without spending money? Maybe longer?

Somewhere around 10 days for me probably. Not having any money kinda does that, at least, no money spend.

Seriously. When you're broke off your ass, you tend not to spend money.

I definitely try to go without my cards as long as I know is possible. Maybe have $5-10 in the wallet and wow, I can afford rent all of a sudden since I don't spend $50 everyday.

                    food does last that long.

I do buy frozen chicken, broccoli & spinach because i eat too much of it but

onions, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber & avocado will last
                    i also have a garden

do you not put things in the fridge?

i think it is more directed to reaching in your pocket and swiping a card or handing cash, but yes gt

Organic greens and veggies still won't last too long in the fridge.

I'm with Nando, we really try to stay away from anything processed.

                            Very good point.

Electricity, gas stove+dryer, water line coming into your house. It's all money, they all have bills.

I've probably gone 2/3 weeks, one large Costco run, full tank of gas in the motorcycle and 2 cars, bills were paid early. Was when I was living alone in my house years ago (early 20's). Not exactly a good diet plan back then, but at least I made it all myself. Was still technically paying for utilities though.

I know it's not the point of this thread, but you'll always be paying for something. Food and shelter are hard to get around unless you're living off the grid and are totally self sufficient. Even then, property taxes will have to be paid if you own the land, lien free, or you're living on a reservation...

                              Probably a day.

I even woke up this morning at 1am because I forgot to order mufflers for the 02 project.

As long as money coming in > money going out, I can manage.
