Very sad to hear. My condolences to you. Makes me tear up thinking about when the time comes for my little guy.

Someone here said it best. They give so much love and ask for nothing in return.

We put down our 10 year old boxer two months ago and it was one of the worse days of my life, i weeped like a child!
Very special dog, he saved my 2 year old when he fell in the pool.

Lost my first dog to some serious bullshit.

He loved the fuck out of me, and my close relatives / family / friends, but became absolutely viscious to strangers. I dealt with it for as long I could, kept him on leashes ALWAYS, I loved him and he loved me so it was chill. But, one day he attacked a cop which started this whole thing with animal control, and he tried to attack others and animal control left me no choice. One of the toughest things I've ever done.

I still keep a clay imprint of his paw, and his registration tags. They're hung up on my wall. I still miss him.

Sorry to hear this. but I have a serious question. The main reason I've been hesitant about getting a dog is because I know one day, after becoming extremely attached to it, it will come down to this. So my question is now that you've experienced the pain of losing your dog, would you have rather not had the dog in the first place? Might be a stupid question, just looking for feedback.

              Worth it. No question.

I have a black & white springer spaniel and even though i know it's gonna suck balls to see him go, it's more than worth it to have him considering the unconditional love he gives and the joy he brings me when he does the goofy shit he does. plus he's the best road trip buddy ever and chicks dig him.

i've lost some really awesome pets and each one gave so much to our family that the loss we feel is nothing compared to the happiness they brought while they were with us.

OP, sorry for your loss, man. i know the feels. hope you're doin' better. i might recommend a new pup. they're awesome to have around when you're feelin' blue. plus training them when they're young is cool cuz they soak it up and the bond created is STRONG.

              :)

edit: glad to see you got a new pup!
