The funny thing, is that out of the box, Windows and OSX are terrible imho. On my Mac and on my WinPC I disable 90% of the helper/assistant crap.

They are equally usable out of box, although a mac does come with more preinstalled software for most people (IE CD Burning, DVD Creation, Image Editing, Video Editing, etc)

Hell the only OS I like out of box is Debian, and thats because I use the netinstall that has NOTHING in it.

I never liked Debian, Gentoo was my pick.

I rocked FreeBSD until I scored a copy of RedHat. Once RedHat died, I found Gentoo. Used Gnome for a bit, then made the move over to KDE. ;)
