form the late 70's though the late 80's almost everything had to be an auto to make the emissions requirements for the V8 powered stuff.
then there is this form a couple of days ago, you wont get carjacked if you drive a stick, seems like this makes the news at least a couple of times a year lol

I've had both. I've also had many different cars/trucks. And since I like an automatic makes me a non car guy? I'd say you need to look beyond your self centered universe... Ever drive a high powered car with an automatic with a high stall converter? Pretty fun I'd say.

That's not what I meant. I was referring to said "car guys" basically refusing to drive/learn to drive a stick. It's kind of a right of passing IMO. Different strokes, personally I would rather have a manual.Originally posted by flyboyxhow about if i yank the anal beads out of your ass like i'm trying to pull start a chain saw?Originally posted by Northernbeer is my new liver cleanse.

You're correct, but the point others are making is that sometimes using the clutch a lot causes actual pain for some people. Arthritis, for example. Most people who can't deal with a manual transmission in traffic have trouble with it because they don't know how to do it properly. You don't accelerate and stop with traffic, you let a gap form, idle along and minimize your starting and stopping. Watch how truck drivers do it sometime.
Wait, you couldn't drive a stick when you were 4 or you still can't?Interested in vintage cars? Ever thought about racing one? Info, photos, videos, and more can be found at www.michaelsvintageracing.com!

I use to care what others drove or did to their cars. But then it hit me, why should I give a fuck? It's not mine and don't effect me in anyway. Life is more peaceful without caring or worrying what others drive.

clearly you've never driven in california traffic. you let a gap of more than a length form here, and someone will swoop into it thinking they can gain ten feet. then you're back to clutch in and brake again. it's really not fun in a car with a lightweight flywheel, a stage-2 clutch, poly mounts everywhere, corbeau fixed-backs, etc...Most people who can't deal with a manual transmission in traffic have trouble with it because they don't know how to do it properly. there really isn't anything wrong with having different cars for different use cases. the e30 is for tearing up mountain roads on weekends, and it's good at that. the subie is good at being a comfortable commuter that's got balls when the roads do open up.past:
