Unfortunate for us fans of the show but it was inevitable and the right thing to do.
If I punched a coworker I would sure as hell expect to get fired for it, good on the BBC for not upholding a double standard for their more powerful employees.
These are basically my exact feelings. It was a fun enough show, but that doesn't give anyone immunity for being a douche canoe like Clarkson has been numerous times. It's too bad he couldn't reel it in, since this is his fault.

Yeah this sucks. He messed up and ruined the whole show.
Here's hoping another network will pick them up. I don't know if BBC owns the Top Gear name or if they simply have a contract with them. If the latter is the case, it'd be cool if they could void that contract and just continue the show elsewhere.
what an utter disappointment. i understand actions have consequences and i understand both sides of the argument, but what a pitiful shame. i hope to see the three of them work together in the future again.... maybe this will be a little wake up call for Clarkson to get his shit together while continuing his hilarious on camera leadership skills.
now excuse me while i go binge watch all of top gear over again.
