I'll give a +1 to using old bunny ears for over the air HD. The new $100 "HD Antennas" are a joke.

Another vote for Fire Stick. They have much faster hardware then everything else out there, short of all the Chinese made android sticks. Super smooth interface, easy to setup. Really a great product.

Yep "HD" Antenna is a joke. There is no such thing.
Only a good UHF mostly but in some markets VHF Antenna is needed.
if its been up for a number of years perhaps some good cable

I built one of these, minus the reflectors:

Works great, get all the local channels that are broadcast.

J had an apple tv and ouya, but the fire stick is leaps and bounds faster. And an antenna for local channels.

DirecTV is awesome! My dad has it and it blasts TWC away. Roku is cool but it isn't continuous (can't fall asleep and wake up with something playing AFAIK). Netflix on the PS3 will play four episodes in your list and then ask if you are still watching.

=1 chromecast. if you are a pro torrent person like myself. get the plex app on your phone or through you PC and install plex on your PC. you can stream all your stuff on your hard drive and it will collect metadata and auto populate you files to show covers, actors etc. pretty sweet program! i supplement it with netflix, hulu, and HBO go that i use my parents directtv login for.
