Design and development are really 2 different things so for the most part I use more than one tool. Photoshop and Illustrator (or equivelants) for the design side of things and Dreamweaver for the programming side.

I know it hasn't been updated in ages (thanks to macromedia fucking things up) but homesite pretty much kicks ass for HTML, and I use topstyle for CSS.

Dreamwever gives you good control, but i bit tricky, and a little hand tweaking is always nice to do.

Preaty much P-shop and D-weaver and you're set. Unless you need something dumbed-down....

Pick up an HTML book and get familiar with it again. I code in Notepad just because I hate the fluff that WYSIWYG editors put out.

Dreamweaver is pretty good for that though it has some trouble with CSS in my opinion. Homesite used to be my weapon of choice.

Whatever you do stay away from Word. Even if you code in straight HTML it'll fucke it up guarenteed.

I use Dreamweaver everyday at work. But other than finishing tags I do not let it make code for me. It spits our rubbish.

Learn how to validate code, its a must these days. Also CSS is extremely useful and verstile and you can do amazing things with it.

                  For example:

No flash or javascript is used on this page.

                  Sold it.
