    Another Damn BMW

Last week my wife finally talked me into getting her a "new" car

2011 X5 Xdrive 35i with the N55 twin scroll single turbo motor and 8 Speed Zf trans gets way better mileage than the Suburban did

Here are some pics not great pictures

My son called BMW "DD" when he was younger because he couldnt say B M W
so we have called them "gray dd" & :red dd" for the e30 & 335i since the x5 and the E30 our both gray now we call it "little gray DD" and "Big gray DD"

I like it for what it is obviously it doesn't drive like the e30 or e90 but its pretty comfortable and gets respectable fuel economy and most importantly she really likes it and its a good family hauler so was the Suburban but fuel mileage was horrendous and it was not as easy to park

so far mileage seems to be 17 city 25 highway Suburban was 13.5 no matter what but did run on 87 octane

Might be worth twice as much by that time, you never know. Hold onto it. He'll learn to appreciate BMWs just as much as he grows up, that much I'm sure of.

              Good cars!

Don't pass the e30 on to him, spend time together building his own. Purchase the car when he's about a year out from his license, you've got a year of weekends together teaching him to manage money and time as well as set goals for success. He'll appreciate that much more than simply, "Here are the keys, son."

from OP's thread title, I'd say he doesn't enjoy BMW anymore

If that's the case, why did you buy another one?
If it's got tits or tires, it's gonna cost ya!

No I love BMW I originally wanted her to get a MDX so it would be less maintenance but I am happy with the purchase. Some of our friends/family think we are a little strange though

Beautiful. It's too bad more parents don't do that for their kids instead of handing them the keys. Teaches them to want to drive it a lot more carefully too!
