I truly do not care about my generation. I do me and that's all that matter. I live by two simple statements. You get out what you put in, and It's not what you know its who you know. Seem to have worked out so far for me... One thing I know for sure is When this generation gets in office we are truly fucked...

I'm sorry but the whole "not what you know, but who" is a cliche to me. Who you know may keep you down for your lack of knowledge. and some people don't ever get past that. it's out there. As far as you get out what you put in, I agree, it takes a very driven individual to live like that. I guess my only point is, not everyone can say the same.

This millenials label makes no sense. It should be used for people born after 2000.

              Hey.

Don't try to take away my generational label just because you don't like yours.

You're just jealous because we've won the award for being the worst generation ever to exist on Earth.

              Go get your own award.

But seriously, this whole thread is retarded. Not the people in it, but the concept that you are trying to take a completely abstract thought and dumbing it down to mere black and white. It's not that simple. Never was, never will be. To debate it would neither bring about a definitive answer, nor enlightenment.

Can we go back to talking about cars or boobs or butts or something actually relevant to us?

Yeah I think this whole thread is silly.

Oldies acting like we get shit handed to us and then take it for granted.

The generations all say the same thing about the previous.

I think the big issue is that people in their late teens/early 20's are overgrown children. Same for every generation. Since this is where the vast numbers of "millenials" are at, maybe it is fair to give them a few more years to mature before casting judgement.

As an aside, after spending last weekend @ lake tahoe, and seeing all the college kids from CA, I had a minor quarter life crisis after I realized I began college over 14 years ago. That is some fucked up shit…...

I could point out many baby boomers who do the same thing. It's rare to find someone deserving of being called "adult." Most of them are "a-dolt." (copyright 2015)

There are many fallacies in the world in which we live. In the grand scheme of things, this really doesn't matter at all. I'm actually interested in what the new generation has to bring to the political table, but don't really want to speculate. I'll just say that at a certain point, things can only get better.

I don't know if we are trying to keep this going or not, but whatever.

What I have noticed as a millennial, and what I hate most about them, is the entitlement they have (especially in college). College is rammed down our throats. Make kids go to school, choose a path for the rest of their life, and get into huge amounts of debt, when only a year or so before we had to ask to go to the freaking bathroom. And for some, they truly are not mature enough for the environment yet. They don't understand how expensive it is, take huge loans, and party their way out (including me). On the other end, the kids there on mommy and daddy's dime, were overly entitled. These were the kids making fun of those who really did have to work hard to get through life, or to make it into school. Thinking they are better because they spend more on their tuition, than those at a community or branch school saving money on the same degree (and then saying they got there all on their own blows my mind). Making fun of those who chose to work after high school, and maybe go back to school later once they know what they want to study, and are ready to really buckle down and work hard. I see a need for actual laborers/electricians/true hardworking trades. While I was in college, I also noticed many of these people seem looked down upon as well. Why?

Besides college, I see it in younger kids already. My brother is in middle school, and his friends are just spoiled, entitled little shits, who I absolutely cannot stand to be around. They get what they want, and do what they want, and just complain everything is too hard, or too much work for them. The "no, you do it" attitude. With all the ease in new technology, people are getting lazier and lazier, but where is the entitlement from? There are people who still live in a dirt houses for Christ's sake. Like the others said, take away a teenagers cell phone and they would be helpless in the world. I feel like the next generation is going to have the rudest awakening when it comes time for them to go out on their own. I was definitely lazy before I got out of college, but I know I have been a hard worker at every job I have had, labor or not. I just don't know where all the entitlement comes from in others.

My bad if the rant is kinda off topic at all, but just my thoughts as I have been tinkering with the idea of learning a trade/going back to school, or just trying to continue my career on through hard work and experience. I mean my father became a successful small business man on his own. My step father worked for B-dubs for 25 years, starting as a fry-cook, working up to a 150k a year position with corporate. You can do it if you put the work into it. I'm just thankful for what I have now. A well paying job, I can afford to eat and keep a roof over my head, and keep a badass car on the road lol.
