Apologies for getting pissed off and mean spirited about it.

A statement about a COHORT OF PEOPLE is not a denial of personal, individual responsibility or a free pass for individual flaws.

Millenials as a cohort have a lot of problems with entitlement, narcissism and over-sensitivity on a huge scale, they weren't born that way, a lot of them were raised to think that they're special to the world, not just to their parents. This is the fault of their upbringing and society, personal flaws, such as lack of understanding personal responsibility are likely a result of bad upbringing, but it is not an excuse for actions.

Um, no. Statement of fact. I didn't call him names, I told him he must have difficulty understanding what I said if he honestly thinks his misinterpretation of my point is true.

If you read my above post, you'd realize that I suspect he thinks I'm something I'm not and is intentionally misrepresenting what I said to back himself up.

I already caught him red handed flat-out making stuff up.

Yup, I sure did LITERALLY SAY
due to this fact various traits were not their fault.
Leading to him telling me that I'm an affluenza supporter and don't think people are responsible for their own actions.

People piss me off when they tell me I said something I didn't. As if you couldn't tell.

This is true that I said that, it is also irrevocable fact. Your upbringing and surroundings mold you into who you are, interacting with hereditary traits and individual differences in personality, to lead to the creation of you. Unfortunately, this is the only part of my statement that you seem to have gotten right, all the rest is either extrapolation or outright fabrication.

    WRONG

Show me exactly where I said that nothing wrong with them is their of their own fault because of the other statement. You won't find it, because I didn't say it.

Here's the problem; you are saying that if someone is a product of their upbringing, it must be necessarily be true that nothing they do is their own fault. This is wrong. One fact does not lead to another unrelated statement without reason. Free will precludes lack of fault, and X is not necessarily true because A is.

And you're wrong. Misrepresenting what I said to support what you initially believed me to intend.

Just admit that you are making up things that I did not say.

To deny that people are products of their upbringings is BEYOND retarded. And to imply that I pushed all responsibility off of people with a bad upbringing, which is exactly what you just did, is probably the dumbest thing I've seen in any forum this year. You best shuffle off with that shitty logic. If you attempt to argue with me by misrepresenting what I said you'll just leave frustrated.

You attacked your opponent's character or personal traits in an attempt to undermine their argument.

You literally said that they are products of their upbringing, and due to this fact various traits were not their fault. Ethan Couch's defense was that he was 'unable to link his bad behavior with consequences because of his parents teaching him that wealth buys privilege'

By my count that is the same logic.

You misrepresented someone's argument to make it easier to attack.

I just got back into reading books. it's taking me a bit of time to get the hang of it again. I can tell my attention span has declined but is steadily getting better.
that being said, for future generations, we need to encourage the youngstas to read and read and read some more. TV and movies are great and all but I believe that can be poison for a child's mind if that's all they learn from. programs like reading rainbow and Jack Hannahs wild adventures were great to watch growing up, but reading books caused me to think more and use my imaginaton.
and imagination is faded away through too much television and faddish media.
