Man shut up. I got just around a foot, about an hour north of Manhattan, got stuck once yesterday in my tacoma but I didn't have any weight in the bed and I have crappy all season tires on it. Surprisingly my e30 started this morning when it was 20 degrees out. It could hardly move on the snow/slush though with bald rear tires and a welded diff.

Big Red didn't need any digging out again this morning, just drove it out.

          Thoughts of the day.

I really wish Audi hadn't bitched out on the differentials in this car. LSDs would have been nice getting out of the poorly cleared driveway.

Digging out my girlfriends parents house. So much damn snow! Luckily the old Cherokee did well driving around yesterday and today. I dont think the Audi could have handled getting out of my townhouse if I bothered digging it out.

Audi hasn't had locking differentials since the old 4000CSQ/UrQ days

I live in the geographical oddity that is Norfolk so we got nothing, even though the rest of Virginia is covered with 30" of snow.

We ended up with about 18" of snow in downtown Richmond, plus bigger drifts due to the 40 mph wind gusts. First pic is at 11:30 when I got home from work with about 1" of snow:

Second pic is at 3:30 with about 5-6" of snow and a guy stuck in the middle of the road. He got out, peed, then got back in, then left his car and wandered off by the time I suited up to help dig him out:

I really miss the snow. This 65° weather in January isn't cutting it.

I like snow. Ice though...that's the horror of winter driving. I remember living in Nashville and seeing the ditches filled with cars after ice storms.

The town next door to me (Morris Plains, NJ) got the second highest snowfall in NJ at 33", I think my town of Morristown officially recorded at 30". I shoveled out halfway through the storm at about 16" only to be demoralized 12 hours later when I had to shovel nearly the same amount.

I guess I'm getting old when I hear snowstorm and I think, snow, screw that, I don't want to shovel.

My parents were going to the 24 hours of Daytona and when they heard about the snow storm they said screw it and went a week early.

That's what we were doing last year. Go out and shovel mid storm so it wouldn't be terrible all at once the next day. A lot of people are out at midnight shoveling and clearing their driveways. It's super bright at night with the snow reflecting the street lamps. Really cool

It was mostly my initiative to go out and shovel since I didn't want it to pile up on my soft top...
