I've always had Sirius...pretty much from the start when they came out, and from the moments i've listened to XM I do enjoy Sirius more, mainly for the DJ's, Comedy, and more channels that I enjoy.

If you want a good read check out this article that the Washington Post did, pretty good read

Great read James, thanks. They left out and I forgot to say Sirius has old radio shows like The Shadow. I listen for the first 8 hours of my 12 hour road trips until they repeat the shows that were on when I started.

Most polls have a Rob (the Moderator) option. It is a joke.

See, I knew this and forgot about it. To Rob: I'm truly sorry and I will be sure to include you as an option in my next poll.

To the rest of you, I'm truly sorry and will be sure to have a "Rob" option on my next poll. I'll try and come up with some other options too just to keep everyone entertained. ;)

stern or bust. Between Stern and NFL exclusively (and I think most other sports), there is no other choice. You can stream your sirius over the computer, and now stern's show can be streamed as well. Sirius subscriptions are through the roof and will overtake XM within two years (imo). XM is scrambling and giving away service on the cheap. Rumors of takeover is amok.

I work in the car audio department at a place called super autobacs. We used to cary those alpine head units and had many problems with the built in xm setup. I would definitely stay away from those guys.

Believe it not sirius was having huge financial problems last year and was about to file bankruptcy. The government gave them a huge grant to keep them afloat. Basically, if they went under then xm would be a monopoly. The government cant allow just one satellite radio company. The only reason sirius was able to pick up howard was because of this grant. All this came right from my sirius reps mouth.

Damn, I was leaning toward XM just based on the built-it XM feature on that Alpine deck. I was planning on going with an Alpine deck anyway (more in the $200 range) but that would eliminate the need for a seperate tuner... Oh well, it looks like I'm going with the deck I had originally planned on.

i have had xm for 2 years now (one in my bmw & one in the 914-6) and been very happy ( infact i just bought a TAO for work 'cause phx radio sucks!!!) if you prepay for a year it is under $100 a year. i fucking hate howard stern...even though i am good friends with yucko...go figure, so that was never a factor. i like punk and the sirius punk station has rap on it too.....wtf...no thanks. never had any recetion problems except when going into under ground parking..no loss i'm parking my car anyways. i have a kenwood deck that came with the car that is sirius ready and was going to buy another deck because of that and best buy told me you just need an xm module for that deck and you are ready to go. both my old roommate and i got it on the prepayed family plan (1st radio regular price with a prepay discount and any additional for 1/2 price) and then we split the total cost. when he moved back to SC he never lost reception and it workes fine there...even on james island and in downtown charleston. with xm you can listen to it online when you are on the computer (like i am now) it's part of the package. the metal station even plays an old skrewdriver song once in a while.

I use Sirius, I also own a shit load of there stock also. I am running the JVC unit and its RF function, plus I think XM sucks.
