That movie is one of my fav too. I saw it 3 times in 2 days. I loved the part when they are talking about how the smirfs have sex. Funny shit.

Donnie Darko is on par with Boondock Saints as far as soundtrack/cinematography go.

Probably my favorite movie of all time.. really well put together in all aspects.. cast, plot, soundtrack, everything about it is great..

Its fucking sick how the soundtrack goes along with the movie perfectly too, the ending song matches everything to a t.

The thing you dont get the first time watching that movie is how much of a tragedy it really is, when donnie says goodbye to his mother my gf cries every time..

The first time I watched the movie I didn't understand anything. It took me a couple times before I got it.

yea, first time I saw it I said "Wait, WTF?"
Then it started to click, and the first time I saw it it was the Directors Cut.
Then I saw the regular version and said that it wasn't the same. The director's cut is so much better than the regular version.
One of the best movie's I have seen, along with V for Vendetta, Boondock Saints, and a few others.

I don't think V for Vendetta deserves to be "up" there with DD/Boondock Saints....

I'd like to offer my dissenting opinion. I enjoyed Donnie Darko. I don't think it is nearly as "deep" as everyone thinks it is.

If you want "deep", read some essays on metaphysics. Decartes is a fun place to start. I enjoyed it, but the depth is hollywood bullshit to me.

The movie inspired me to do just that... i spent a few hours reading some stuff to attempt to scratch the surface and that rabbit hole can go pretty much as deep as you are willing to go.

I got something fucked up for you. The closer one gets to the speed of light, the slower time goes. If you sychronize 2 clocks and send one up in the space shuttle and let it orbit the earth for a while, the clocks will be different if you compare them again. Its been proven. Messed up huh?

We talking original or directors cut?

The DC of Darko is a lot better than the initial release - granted I didn't find either to be really all that "deep".
