haha, that's funny - you renting it out or something?

I'm here now. I slept on the floor the first day we had the keys (didn't have my new bed yet), there was no way I was going back to my old apartment and shitty neighbors when I could stay in a new house! :)

Yeah, Tom and most of the rest of the PNW have seen my new place, it's pretty nice.

That's rad, I always loved sleeping on the floor in sleeping bags the first night when you move into a new place, and going out to get whatever fast food is still open at night when you're finally done moving everything in.

What happens if one of you guys gets married or wants out? He have to pay off the other two? Id just be worried about all that kinda stuff, even if it was my best friends.

              Either way, awesome place.

Hell I am paying 3300 for an 1800sq ft condo.

                Congratulations!
                SoCal real estate is crazy.

comparing mortgage payments to rents is kind of skewed anyway. My mortgage on my 4000 sq ft place here is half of what Nando is talking about, but we had a ton of equity coming over from our old house, so we had a big downstroke on the purchase price. And we got it locked in at an insanely low % - dunno what mortgage rates are now, but your interest rate maaakes a HUGE difference.

if somebody really wanted to get married, it's not like we don't have enough room. the master bedroom is as big as my old apartment! :D none of us are even close to that right now, but if anyone wants out they just have to buy out the other two. I don't have any friends who are married or getting married, and most of us are between 27-31. being single is definitely the way to go!

I've also known these guys longer than most of you have been alive, so I'm not to worried about the "money and friends" issue. ;)

                    My thoughts exactly.

Lawyer fees + realter fees will eat up most of the equity you will make if any.....

I can understand having trust, and even the living with a marriage, but honestly, when it comes time to sell, you think everyone is going to want out at the same time?

Place looks great, what development did you get into and are you outside Blaine? Buying new is nice and means you don't have to spend much/any time doing repairs or upgrading.

you guys don't get it, and I guess you aren't meant to. go ahead and keep on renting if it makes you feel better. ;)

craig, the development is off the smith road, just a little ways from ferndale. I'm probably about a 1.5 miles from where justin lives, and just a little way from the i-5 onramps on the slater road. haggens and papa murphys are like 1 minute away :D

I dont dispute your concept of building equity instead of losing rent money. Good thinking - and it looks like a nice place.

The time is going to come when someone wants out - getting married, money troubles or something. If you guys are that good of friends and financially stable, you'll work it out - either buying out the other guy with a HELOC or selling the place and each taking your equity to buy elsewhere or whatever.
