shit happened to me back in the day. last m80 i had out of 600 of them. sunny day at the park, just tapped a keg. wife there along with 10 or 15 friends. i am lighting the thing, rear back to throw it and bam. right next to my ear. took the thumb to just below the nail, the forefinger also below the nail, and shredded the middle finger right off the bone to the middle knuckle. had the middle somewhat surgicly repaired. also lost quite a bit of hearing in my right ear. i'm guessing that from being in a bag with the rest of the m80's that the fuse was covered with black powder dust. usually light them with a cigarete but used a lighter this time. i think it caught and burned down the outside of the fuse before the actual fuse caught and in the bright sunshine i couldn't see it. thank god i was only holding it by 2 fingers and a thumb or that guy could of bin me.
