What are you guys running for surround systems, Tv's or 2 channel set ups. Just curious as I am looking into something.

You fucker! I am moving in. Make room for a teenage boy and an old bastard who snores like hell.

OK, all kidding aside, my old system (now the ex-wifes) was a HK reciever (AVR65, IIRC) a Carver M500T running a single 18" Fosgate 8 ohm sub in 15 cubic feet under the house, speakers I built using SEAS and Peerless drivers (MTM config with 18db/oct crossovers). Some POS HK DVD and CD...all on a 27" RCA TV from 1985....waiting on that projector.

But we split, so I lost the house, the stereo, the cars, etc..but it was worth every penny.

        Cool,

I am just starting on installing some of my stuff. I have the place wired for a dedicated theater room and 8 zones of whole house audio. Just trying to see what brand guys are running as I am looking into some other business ideas.

        Thanks,

        Tyler

I don't know exactly what our system is

But we got a 42" plasma with a HTPC running it. Denon receiver of some flavor, 15" JBL sub, and two HK Speakers I got a killer deal on. Went to best buy to look at some new ones for my dad (the ones were had were from like 1970 and the cone wasn't even attached anymore)

I saw these nice look HK ones that were open box, Price tag of $50. So I ask the guy working if it was $50 for the set or $50 each. He told me it was probably each because $50 a set was ridiculously low. He looked it up anyways and indeed it was $50 for the set! I guess it had 3 sales stacked on it. First it was on sale because it was a speaker sale, then another sale because it was last years model and they were cleaning out, and another sale to get it even cheaper because it was open box. I went home after buying them to see what they were new, they were $250 each new!

          wewt for me ;)

In my dedicated theater room I have the following:

Display: Sanyo PLV-Z3 720p native LCD projector, self-built 110" screen mounted on wall.

Source units: Pioneer VSX-1014TX receiver, RCA HD5000 HD-DVD player, Directv H10-250 HD-DVR, older Sony ES changer, Xbox 360 with HD-DVD drive add-on, Playstation 2 (for Gran Turismo 4, of course!)

            Speakers: B&W 604S3 mains, B&W LCR600S3 center, B&W DS6 S3 side surrounds, Infinity Kappa 6 rear surrounds, HSU Research STF-2 sub.

Three seat leather theater couch/chairs, Lutron wireless remote controlled lighting system, Logitech Harmony remote to control it all.

In my den, I have a Sony 34XS955 34" widescreen CRT WEGA 1080i set (one of the best televisions ever made, bar none!), Panasonic XR-55 digital receiver, Pioneer DVD/SACD/DVD-Audio player, JBL E80 mains, JBL EC35 center, JBL 10" sub, Athena AS-B2 side surrounds.

Oh I will also note, its really hard to make Stereo work these days, our house is old and isn't wired for surround sound, so it takes a lock of dicking around to make DVDs and crap sound right over really loud speakers.

I keep running into crap like the music in DVDs is super loud, but the voices are super soft.

Thanks for the props, sounds like you had mega-thump yourself, makes my whatever watt 10" in the center, and whatever watt 15" in each tl seem like weak sauce. I tend to like home-made over store bought anyhow. Have any pics of that enclosure?

26" widescreen philips tv (its good enough for me), dvr, pioneer vsx-816 7.1ch surround, 5 jbl speakers (diff models dont feel like listing them all) and 2 custom speakers from creative acoustic (old), and a shitty subwoofer, 4 of the speakers are at different heights, ran out of money for stands
