Our cops don't even carry guns, love it how you civilians 'need' them.

Sure the midnight special on the $250aks. $850 for an AR is about right for a base one and at that price its almost a half of months income for the average US citizen.
My deal is what gives anyone the right to tell me what I can and can not have!
Originally posted by robbieosterman1) I'm not hiking having a gun on me in a State Park, only in state owned land which is perfectly legal.
2) Depends with assault rifle. You can pick up an AK47 for around the $250 range... where as a lower end AR15 could be had found for around $850. I wouldn't call that expensive ...Build your own dreams, or someone else will hire you to build theirs!

Do you all have any animals that might be capable of mauling a human? As a Washington stater, I have bears I see the tracks & poo of all the time, and occasionally see the backside of one hightailing it into the underbrush to dodge me. It wouldn't be that way if I got between mama & a cub. Also we have a wildcat population that seems to be growing, and we keep pushing into its' world.
I always keep a .45auto on me when we go quaddin' up in the hills. Of the 4 of us who ride together, 2 of us carry on the trails. Never unholstered yet, and I hope I never will. But it sure beats starring on a TV show of "when wild animals attack".
Bears at least hear the quads before we surprise them, but on a horse it might not be like that - I see most of the horse folks carry, and that seems more responsible an action than not to carry.

How many people in the US actually died after being shot with an assault weapon last year once you exclude the following two groups:
1. Those who posses an assault weapon and their immediate family (Stupid if often the cause) (who cares)
or
2. Engaged in some high risk behavior such as selling drugs
(who cares)
Handguns are far, far, far more dangerous to the average american (and to the average police officer). So why the focus on assault weapons?
Easier to keep the people under control.Comment

I saw it on futureweapons. was pretty awesome. the round they used in the .50 cal was called the "416" which stood for .416 caliber. those is uses the same powder cartridge as the 50 cal. this enables it to shoot much much farther than a standard 50 cal because the bullet is lighter, but not too light.

I have a friend with an MP5 and he has never hunted or shot at a person with it. Its just fun to burn up lots of ammo and destroy things. Its good redneck fun.
Why does someone need a 500hp Corvette? We should ban those since nobody needs them. Same thing goes for cigs and booze. They kill people and nobody needs them. Casual sex is also dangerous. That shit should be banned too. Sex for procreation ONLY!
Banning shit is just step one.
Im now E30less.

Lee - I can to some degree see your side - but really triggerlocks and gun safes need to be a part of gun ownership. Here in WA they don't charge sales tax on gun safes, as a gun safety device is encouraged.
You put your wrenches in a toolbox, and guns should go in a safe. For the record, I have a safe myself.
Besides that, blaming a gun isn't right - it's the human.

Ive owned guns for years and havent killed anyone. I havent even tried. Just because that is the only purpose YOU can find for a gun doesnt mean I cant find others. In fact, Browning would argue he created his weapons to save lives.
Has there been a rash of mass killings with assult type riles since the ban was lifted? Last few I have seen involved traditional guns that have been legal for some time. Locally there has been stabbings.
So we should ban ALL guns and knives. You will have to cut everything with a spoon. Dont sharpen the edge of the spoon, though, that will get you 20 years.Im now E30less.

^Agreed, 100%
The Democrats always screw things up.
The 2nd Amendment doesn't say 'You can keep and bear arms except the ones we tell you not to'.
It says:
"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."
Now for those of you who say.."WAAAH, it talks about being used by militias"
WTF kind of militia can you have in modern times without assault type weapons?
But the most important component is the whole...the right of the people to keep and bear arms not being infringed thing.Comment
