Here's the evidence, and you can do your own research:
Go look up weather records for the past 100 years.

You'll notice that 75 years ago, the weather was far more stable. Temperatures were ON AVERAGE...cooler.

The increased heat is what's been responsible for the upswing in hurricanes. Hurricanes are essentially giant heat pumps that transfer hot air from the lower atmosphere to the upper atmosphere.

The climate is changing, and the world is getting warmer.
HOWEVER, the debate is whether or not this phenomenon is MANMADE. I would tend to say that since manmade chemicals caused the depletion of the ozone layer in the 80s and 90s (it's getting better now), which increased insolation (means amount of radiation absorbed...not insulation), and manmade particulates reduce the albedo (reflectivity) of the atmosphere, it should be self evident that we do play at least a small role.

I would tend to say that we can't be responsible for the entire trend. The 'normal' global climate (since the planet has been habitable, not since the 1900s) is actually MUCH warmer and more chaotic...(during the age of the dinosaurs we had a tropical planet for MILLIONS of years).

If it IS us, we'll knock ourselves into another ice age before we can totally destroy the ecosystem, but we survived one before and we're better equipped to handle it now, so we'll be OK in the long run.

Funny you say ignorant yet you claim "Nearly every climate scientist in the world agrees that global warming is real and is the result of human beings."
Which is bullshit. There are many scientists that don't just disagree but question whether GW is real. We already know climate change is real. But is GW....
For every fact that supports GW there is a conflicting fact.

I just gave myself a standing ovation. And as a matter of fact most of my knowledge about global warming came from pamphlets that I got from the oil companies.. so I know its true that global warming does not exist.

there are some good arguments in that movie jake. I hadnt heard some of them and they are good to know since being close to Berkley and SF there are some crazy peopole out there who live for this stuff. Two days ago i was told that SF airport would be under water in ten years. I was told that as a fact, it made me laugh.

The earth is millions of years old. We have only been keeping recorded track of the weather for a little more than 100 years and the industrial age didn't really get into full bloom until after the war.

And then if you consider what the ice age must have been like, there was some degree of global warming that melted all of that ice back to the polar caps. What we are seeing today is probably nothing more than the continuation of that cycle. When we see the sun set, it always seems to move pretty fast as it goes over the horizon even though we barely see it move gradually during the day. And I think the same applies here. There has been a gradual warming trend and the closer we get to the end of the cycle, the faster it will appear to progress.

Look dood, you need to read a bit, or just open your eyes. The earth does go through it's cycles, but on a different scale than we are seeing. The earth has NEVER seen this rate of change in climate. And you are stupid if you think we only know about the last 100 years of the climate. Ice that has been frozen for hundreds of thousands of years with little air bubbles tells us that what we are seeing has not happened before.

I know you don't get it, but it would be great if you wouldn't spread misinformation.
