whoa, get defensive much?
I did talk to some nice people there actually, but there are definitely some people who weren't very friendly to "different" people. I spent most of my time in northern GA anyway - hey some of the really nice people were even black.

Ahh, south FL. Where the more north you go, the more south it gets.Leave a comment:

South GA is for all those too dumb to work in ATL or too dumb to retire in FloridaLeave a comment:

One thing that I have noticed about people from the dirty south is that they don't seem to mind walking into a nasty public restroom while barefoot.Leave a comment:

Our bathrooms are pretty clean. All those who come to pick strawberries and turn jaitors work hard.
The deep south? Isn't that the place where the black guys are really lazy and all the white guys are just as lazy but they're mad at the black guys for being so lazy? - Peter, The Family GuyLeave a comment:

Dick comment. I bet ALL your rest stops are spotless. That statement was as ignorant as you portrayed your boy Jebadia.Leave a comment:

You sure your not racist? Atlanta is a majority African American city. That's all. I live in a 50/50 neighborhood and am better friends with the neighbor on my left (black guy and his sister) than the white hippie on my right. In fact we are going to a pancake breakfast for our street at his house next Sunday. I doubt you would be in any more danger in a "white" neighborhood in atlanta proper as you thought you were in that one.I also went to a BK somewhere in atlanta. I'm pretty sure we were the only white people for miles.. I'm not racist so I didn't make a big deal of it, but who knows if I was in any danger or not. there were some pretty scary looking people there..
Atlanta has the worst traffic in the US. That's right we win. Going 90 in atl proper between the hours of 4pm and 7pm is impossible. When were you here last?oh yeah, driving in rush hour traffic in atlanta? if you aren't doing 90mph, you'd better get off the road...
WF isn't a greasy spoon.... you need to go to a real greasy spoon in the south and you will understand. Did you actually talk to those guys???? Most modern "rednecks" in Ga get along fine with other races. Nando you usually have great insight on things. I can't help but wonder why you applied such archaic stereotypes while you were here.I've been to quite a few of the "waffle house" places in georgia.. talk about your greasy spoons! I saw quite a few "good old boys" that I wouldn't want to be around if my skin happened to be a different color..Leave a comment:

lack of good service workers. they either moved north, or are closer to where they enter the country. that, and jebadia don't undderstan howe to uss a toilet brussseI have a question for any of you yahoos who live in or near the Southern half of Georgia.
When the billboard says "Clean Restrooms" where in the hell are the dirty ones they are comparing them to?
I make the trip between KY and FL several times every year, and have yet to find a half way clean restroom or restaurant between Macon and the Florida border. We have tried just about everywhere.
I swear, I wouldn't let my dog piss on the floor in most of them.
We stopped in Tifton this past week and at McDonalds, I swear the restroom looked like the one in the opening part of Trainspotting.

I don't know.. I have to agree with him. From a Mississippi standpoint. Now jon, let's not throw stones.... there are parts of rural nor cal that are pretty much the same. The south I could show you would be totally different than the stereotypical things that you hear. Just as the Nor Cal you could show me would be different than what I knew before I moved out there.Leave a comment:

Two. One at lake oconee and one in atl I believe. And no there won't be.
S georgia is pretty crappy, but it does get hit really hard as far as rest stops and gas ups go. there are alot of places and the outlets appeal to many different people. I am not defending the conditions you saw, just stating an opinion.Leave a comment:

I've never been to that region of the fruited plain but your experiences seem to align themselves with my stereotyped perception of the deep south.
