this "God bless America" BS is pissing me off. And just because some people's views don't coincide w/ the Bushies or even anything to do w/ this Gov't, that doesn't make them a traitor. The revolution will come- or the end of the fucking world.
Believe it or not, it is in our hands. But the people who actually believe that the people in power aren't lying to us might as well me dead IMO. (IE they're worthless, not I want them to die) Anyone catch the 400th simpsons episode?
Trent wont have it.... you either think like him, or youre an Iraqi infiltrator that will blow up his E30 with C4. ;) I luv you Trent, youre just a little too hick for me hehe. jk man.
This whole government conspiracy type of thinking is complete nonsense and if you believe it then you've watched too many crappy conspiracy movies. Politicians are people just like anybody else who felt strongly enough about public policy and worked their ass off to earn a leadership position with which to try and do good for our country. That's right, i think that in the end politicians do want things to be better than they currently are. The problem is that we end up with a bunch of people with a lot of different opinions who all think they are right or else they are too obtuse to understand their opponent's view of the world.
With this war in Iraq, I think a lot of people really just don't know what to do and are too hesitant to make any actual move for fear of the situation just getting worse. Olberman is right, our government is failing and it's because they're big pussies afraid to take a direct course of action. But the thing that consertatives say which pisses me off the most though, is when they have to remind us that we must support our troops, as if to suggest that the Democrats or any anti-war opponent is a soulless SOB who simply wants to abandon our soldiers. What these dumb fucks don't understand is that we do fully support our troops; we're just sick and tired to see on the news that another one of America's finest was killed today in what has become a futile effort to "save" the middle east. Of course we support all those things like freedom and equality, but it's simply too idealistic. In the end, our underlying hubrous tricks us into think that we have it all figured out and every country should be like ours, when that simply cannot and will not ever happen.
God Bless America shouldnt mean Goddamn The Rest of the World.
Mariano
Sorry it should mean fuck the rest of the world. I tell you why, because they dont give a fuck about us. Who is always sending troops somewhere to help?? USA... who bails out the UN... USA.
The UN is more corrupt than our Government ever could be even if we took lessons from them 15 hours a day for twenty yrs. They have no real power and bitch at us for doing what needs to be done.
America is always asked to help and we almost always do, most of the time though we get bitched at for not doing enough, then when we try to do enough we get bitched at for doing too much.... its a pathetic damned if you do / damned if you dont situation.
No other country can do what we can and we have tried to make the world happy since the end of WW2 and it hasnt gotten us jack shit, so you know what FUCK THEM.. FUCK THEM ALL I say pull out of Iraq today, pull our troops to our borders and line them up and close ourselves off like China did. Fix our problems FIRST!~! Our starving kids, our bad schools, our dangerous neighborhoods... lets have Americans start striving to be the best again.
Im so tired of seeing fucking commercials for starving kids in Africa and how we should send them money, when I can drive downtown and see homeless people as well as starving kids just a few miles from my house with no one doing anything about it. Im so tired of "famous" people running away to another country to adopt some little bastard when our orphanages still have children with no homes in them. Im so tired of my tax money going to fuck tards who have been on Welfare for genreations and generations ... Don't even get me started on illegals.. WTF make them legal I dont care or kick them out... JUST GET SOME FUCKING TAXES out of them instead of this free ride bullshit. Fuck Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands for just being US territories and not paying taxes to help this country out but having their cake and eating it to with being able to freely pour into our borders and recieve Gov't funding.
Once we fix those problems listed above, then we should go and save the world.

I'm not going to say much in this thread. I stay out of them and I don't argue politics. But you just took the thoughts right out of my head on that one.
I could barely afford to go to college and I'm already sweating how I'm going to pay for my 16 month old daughter to go, and Oprah is opening private schools in AFRICA for GIRLS ONLY?

The world won't come to an end despite what side of the fence you are on. I know you walk around with your eyes open, but in that sense, they might be a little too open.
As for revolution, you mean the Democratic revolution?

God damn fucking right. Alot of the other stuff you're saying is pretty spot on, except we never should have gone into Iraq in the firstplace. I think that's why U.N. bitches the way they do.
And why the hell did we go to Iraq? Sure sadam was an awful man, and the WMD's, yadda, yadda, yadda, but why not help out another country, why go to Iraq? Probably because George W. thinks he has a big floppy cock.

Oh no, you did NOT bring The Oprah into this. She is one of the most hypocritical people of the modern century. Look for her recent comments about how "she has fantastic white folk working for her." She gives a new face to racism. She tries to help people to break free of racism, but pushes the ideas herself.

I have to disagree here. No matter what was said about why we went and such WE DO NEED TO BE THERE TO FINISH ... Im not happy about it but we are there and need to finish it. If we arent going to close off our borders like I want, Iraq definitely should be one of the places we try to save. I have been there and seen it first hand what was done there was horrible and Saddam and his sons were truly living Evil, Im glad and proud America is part of the force that killed them.... It needs to be finished though... Rome was not built in a day and you cannot rebuild a split country as fast as most Americans are comfortable.
I know I might be sounding a little hypocrytical but Im not. I dont want to be in Iraq and I do feel America should close off our borders but if we arent going to do that, then we need to finish the job the right way just so the rest of the world can have it shoved back in their faces that we actually did what everyone else said we couldnt.
As for revolution, you mean the Democratic revolution?
The government needs to change with it's people. "Democracy" the way we know it today may well have worked in the past. IMO- as technology and communication abilities expand, inevitably so does humanity. I'm tired of sitting back and watching the two parties throw shit back and forth at each other. It seems to me that they've reached a political stalemate.
So maybe I'm too much of a dreamer, maybe I've seen V for Vendetta too many times, maybe I DO WANT TO BE A FRENCH FRY.
I don't mean a revolution in the sense of an extreme "lets get those fuckers on the guillotine"... rather a HUGE change in the way our government works. The simple fact that the average hard-working, really motivated joe can't really run for presidency due to the campaign cost is a huge problem in my eyes.
Well thanks, but the reference of "George W. Bush's big floppy cock" was in reference to George W.'s ego. I really don't care about the democrats or republicans, I just think that George W. is a terrible president.
Oh, and don't condescend someone you've never met before. It's makes you look like an asshole.
