What is a real job? IT? Drafter? Laborer? Some other job that requires an associate's degree? Maybe some abuse their power, but it pays as well as the afore mentioned tasks and offers a good pension.

I complained about the cops when I was a teenager. It sucked when I got caught driving recklessly, boozing underage, or messing around on people's property, but I always deserved it when I got in trouble.

So next time you get pulled over with a joint between your lips, call the cop a waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles and ask if he has something better he could be doing.

Most of the skaters in my area are stuck up snotty assholes. They think they own the town. I don't think its wrong for them to get in trouble for skating, maybe even arrested, but a ripped skinhead cop shouldn't be choking out little prepubescent teenage boys (unless he paid for their services in a motel room) and choking a young girl either.

I've skated on and off for 10 years and I've never had a "run in" with the cops. I've had cops/security guards/property managers ask/tell me to leave, and I kindly apologize and comply. Be nice, don't ignore them, apologize, and be on your way. You'll never get roughed up like this. I've even gotten kicked out from the same spot more than once by the same person and as long as you are nice they treat you like you've never been there before (generally).

As I've gotten older I stopped street skating, and I am lucky that there are 5 skate parks within 20 minutes of my apartment. Next year, I will be opening/running a skate park and skate shop as part of private youth center that a good friend of mine is opening. I bet my perspective on these young skaters will change after I have to deal with them day in and day out.

Let's drive fast and have fun.

Sounds like something you need to do first, then tell me what happened. :D

I'm curious to see the footage before the cop had the kid pinned to the ground. It seems pretty excesive, but I'm sure the skaters were mouthing off to the cop before.

I don't need excuses. Unlike you I have been dragged off by board at 30 mph by a motorcycle cop that had no business touching me and was repremanded accordingly.

                            Matt,

I am one of the most law abiding citizens you might meet. I pay my taxes with some deductions, and I keep my car in complete working order in compliance to emissions and other laws.

This leads me to why I hate cops. I really do nothing wrong. I have had two tickets that were not excessive, both of which were dropped by the judge.

I am the only one on the interstate that is going 65-70 in a 65 area the fact that every asshole with a badge blasts past makes me angry. Some times they find it necessary to ride my ass. In those cases I ignore them.

The two times I have been pulled over the officer was not as polite as he could have been. If I was holding up a convenience store, or (I cannot resist) a doughnut shop, I could understand some hostility. But not when I am just trying to compensate for a late start to work by going a little faster than I should.

As far as a real job, being a cop is not one of them. A real job boosts the economy. Brings items to the consumer market. A real job provides a service. A real service, not a fucking mobile tax collector.

I have to step back and allow for the fact that there are mentally unstable people in the world that need to be kept in check. The police often do that. The day to day job of a cop in public is, in my opinion, a waste of my tax dollars. They site in their Crown Vicks with the A/C blasting talking on the phone to their girl friends while their wives are at home tending to their kids. I have yet to see one that does not accelerate a full throttle from every traffic light, wasting fuel, wearing on their government paid vehicle, being reckless, and generally being worthless.

Matt, if you were to think and try to understand why the officer was wrong you would agree. When a men or woman is given a badge and responsibility they should remain calm in every situation, no matter who is pestering them. Kids on skateboards generally are punks. But some of their problem is a misinterpretation of disgust with the world around them. I hate the world around me too. And I question everyone’s authority. If that officer had accosted me or one of my friends I am not sure what I would do. I do, however, expect the cop to not put me in that position.

Long and short, I think they are worthless people who fill a necessary position in society that are not held accountable for their actions. This is America if you don’t like that I don’t have to care.
