I just don't see the need for a round that doesnt really perform better then 9MM, 10MM, or .45 and is more expensive then all of those options.

The 9mm used to perform way worse than it does today. There was a need for a hot 9mm type round about 30 years ago and the 40 was created for that niche. Since then, manufacturers have increased the ballistic capability of the 9mm and as such, it performs very close to the 40.

Yeah, I still need a shotgun. Think I'll be using the ar and the vp9. Dont need a competition setup, it would be just for the fun of it. Dont want to spend much on the shotgun. Would like to stay under $700 but i dont know shit about shotguns. Seems lime a lot to learn. Barrel lenght, caliber, shell length, semi auto or pump, choke.Last edited by naplesE30; 04-23-2016, 04:40 PM.Comment

Barrel length isn't really a big deal, as long as you can tune the pattern with chokes. It's mostly a feel thing, longer is more weight out there so it swings smoother and easier to follow through. Shorter obviously better if you want to transition quickly, or might use it for home defense-Christian

Just orderd a mossberg 930 jm pro 24" Most of the reviews of it seem pretty solid. The concensus seems to be its a good value. As long as you do a full cleaning every 500 rounds and run decent ammo it sounds like it ought to be fairly reliable (enough for my needs anyway). Would love to get FN SLP as they seem like the bees knees, but that is overkill for me at this point. Should arrive in a week and then 3 days after that before I can get it in my hands.Comment

Nice! I kinda want a 930jm but have enough toys lol-Christian
