    I know dub posted the, ATF's study and intentions on Importation of Shotguns aimed at banning the Siga 12, via regulations. But I fond this which seems to put a light on the real agenda (like we didnt know already) , but it seems that want to make any shot gun that has a laundry list of "features" that are not for a "sporting purpose" and there for should be illegal. You know all the ones that make it the best tool for defending your home, and has far reaching implications by precedent for Pistols and rifles as well.

    As we all know the laundry list here they are for a refresher

    Here are the characteristics that the study has decided are unsuitable for sporting use:

    (1) Folding, telescoping, or collapsible stocks;

    (2) bayonet lugs;

    (3) flash suppressors;

    (4) magazines over 5 rounds, or a drum magazine;

    (5) grenade-launcher mounts;

    (6) integrated rail systems (other than on top of the receiver or barrel);

    (7) light enhancing devices;

    (8) excessive weight (greater than 10 pounds for 12 gauge or smaller);

    (9) excessive bulk (greater than 3 inches in width and/or greater than 4 inches in depth);

    (10) forward pistol grips or other protruding parts designed or used for gripping the shotgun with the shooter’s extended hand.

    Some of these features, such as folding stocks and larger capacity magazines clearly are useful in sports if you include practical shooting sports.

    Make it harder to defend your home in the dark and against unknown number of intruders, seems kinda "spooky" too me.

    and some links for you to enjoy

    Really I dont know what to do, I have written all my reps on a federal level and even many that aren't beholden to me, several times since this 1st broke at the 1st of the year and have gotten NO positive responses just a thank you for your input form letter. I have made my comments on the ATF's comment page (not that it matters 1 lick they are taking orders from the top and no amount of comments form the serfs will sway them) Oh well from MY COLD DEAD HANDS, buy it while you can and stack it deep. Is the time to defend your home fast approaching?????

      I sold my SIG P239 (so sad, shouldn't have done it) and my Walther P22 (POS!) and bought a SIG P229 Equinox with a .22 conversion kit.

      It flat out rocks! It's everything I loved about my P239 with almost double the capacity and the special edition sexyness. I think I'll take off the wood grips and go with some thin flat panels for carry. Fiber optic tritium night sights FTW!

      I'm also waiting for CLEO sign off on my ATF form 1 so I can make a .22 can. :)

        I love the equinox. I have often thought about picking one up. Good score. Oh even if you make the can your self I think you have to wait for the form 4 to com/e back from the atf to be on the up and up

                Have you shot it much?
                I've put a few boxes through it so far. I just love how solid it feels compared to a polymer framed pistol. I also like the "safe" action for carrying. I don't know if I'd like the m10 or m13 models, simply because how comparatively portly they are.

                I did some work for a buddy of mine and he paid me with a pre 98 mauser, re-barreled in .308. I need to go shoot sometime...SOON.

                    i just turned 18, always wanted a gun, never shot one before though.
                    i want to start hunting, target shooting, and something for home protection(if it came down to it).

                    so a semi-auto shot gun or maybe a 30*6?
                    idk
                    i want to spend under 500...

                    any suggestions?

                      pick up a nice Marlin or Ruger 22 semi auto rifle. Learn the fundamentals of shooting first then move up. You will find that your 22 rifle will most likely be your favorite gun. Accurate, cheap, and you can shoot all day for about $15.

                          why bolt action?

                            Preference thing. I've had both, still have my bolt gun, prefer it hands down to my old ruger 10/22. The ruger was easy to just rattle off rounds, but the bolt gun makes you slow down and make each shot count. Preference thing like I said... Definitely look into an 880 though, that thing will shoot trap and be a sturdy bird gun for a long long time without skipping a beat
