Hope you boys and girls have been saving your money. The AUG A3 is about to be released here in the states later this month. They currently are just waiting for the new barrels to get in and they are ready to start releasing them. This is one amazing rifle, and well worth the coin!
Steyr Arms Announces That Its Iconic AUG A3 Bullpup Design Will Be Available to American Shooters With A Cold-Hammer-Forged Barrel
TRUSSVILLE, Ala. (August 2, 2012) —Steyr Arms, the only licensed manufacturer of Steyr products in North America, has announced that the AUG A3 will be available later this month. Assembled by Steyr-Mannlicher-trained gunsmiths in its Trussville, Ala., manufacturing facility, the new flat-top AUG A3 will feature European-style cold-hammer-forged barrels and the legendary tulip-style muzzle brake.
With an overall length of 28.15 inches including a 16-inch barrel attached, the AUG A3 is not only 8 inches shorter than an AR-15 carbine with a comparable-length barrel, it runs exceptionally cleaner due to its short-stroke-gas-piston operation. Its stainless steel operation and guide rods offer unparalleled smoothness in operation as well as exceptional reliability. Dual gas-adjustment settings ensure its operation even with the dirtiest of ammunition.
The Steyr AUG A3’s 25-position Picatinny rail makes sighting options nearly limitless, to include numerous optics and back-up iron sights. The AUG A3 has all the classic features and benefits that established it as the pinnacle of modern rifle design, including expedient disassembly as well as simple conversion to left-hand operation, which requires replacement of the standard bolt with the optional left-eject bolt. It also features a quick-change barrel with a collapsible forward grip. The AUG A3, which comes with a transparent polymer 30-round magazine, has a suggested retail price of $2,099.
Several companies have attempted to reverse engineer the iconic Steyr AUG for the American public, but unless a rifle boasts the interrupted four-ring Steyr bullseye beside “Steyr Arms” stamped on the receiver, it is not an authentic Steyr product. Any imitation rifles and/or parts do not carry Steyr Arms’ unconditional support, nor will the company warrant or repair them.

Always been interested in a AUG. But alas I dont shoot much 5.56, and dont want to stock another caliber in mass. If it was available in 7.62x51 I would be on the waiting list as paid in full!!!!Originally posted by FusionIf a car is the epitome of freedom, than an electric car is house arrest with your wife titty fucking your next door neighbor.

LMT makes a fine standard trigger, but this is so night and day! Nice 2 stage that is so super crisp and very little reset. Its more of a precision trigger but will not fail ya if you go running and gunning.Build your own dreams, or someone else will hire you to build theirs!

I kinda like this build out for the Saiga .223
Maybe not the scope but Id go with the side mounted scope mount. Also I like the side folder stock with pistol grip. The mag conversion is ok, it easy to find those mags makes it kinda worth it and they work flawlessly. The threaded barrel is a plus to help with flash and muzzle rise. The front grip, not the biggest fan of but with the built in light it does serve a good purpose.Build your own dreams, or someone else will hire you to build theirs!

I'll see if I can find the article I looked at.
I agree, it will help you with your grip if you ever have to switch to pistol. Yes the conversion is not just a easy swap but I feel we are all mechanically inclined, its not rocket science. But teh_activ you have to balance out the gun as you experienced the gun is very nose heavy. It makes for a much better shooter, and easier on you, if you can balance out the gun. I know there are Saiga forums but I think mostly those would be for the Saiga12. Also check with AK47.com as well, its the dark side of AR15.com Over 100k members that are always helping out others in their builds.
I cant wait to see what you come up with next!Last edited by Vedubin01; 08-10-2012, 05:52 PM.Build your own dreams, or someone else will hire you to build theirs!

Here's my LMT AR in 5.56, fixed defender lower with 16" upper. Rock River trigger group. LMT tactical adjustable iron sites. Went with the fixed stock so i can add some other evil features and still "legally" have the gun in NY or CT.
Never shot it with the stock trigger, but it's super smooth the the current rock river set up!
Crappy pic, but all i got.
