It's running. Lol. The new harness I got fixed it.

And the problem is the California dirty dozen (Peloski, Finestein, etc...) wants to ban AR15s and other modern rifles, so as the old saying goes... In b4 lock!

Just a way to get an SBR, but you would still need to get the tax stamp. And is that one the DPMS barrel, on the real commando barrel the flash suppressor is considered as a suppressor.

That barrel is based on the CAR-15 Commando (XM177/GAU-5 series) found half way down here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAR-15

Finally and obviously the Gas piston design is far more reliable than gas impingement. All you have to do is look at the Kalashnikov. much looser tolerances allow for more, much more, reliability and less maintenance/upkeep.

        and fuck marketing btw
so ignorance rears it's ugly head looking for a slapdown-

-whatever recoil is generated by a firearm reaches it's peak while the weapon is in battery. when the operating system takes the weapon out of battery the recoil spike drops. it does not matter, in terms of cartridge generated recoil, which system the weapon uses. and, the greater mass of a piston would tend to increase the felt recoil since it is moving rearward as well.

-to paraphrase ross perot "it's obvious to the brain dead..." (OP) that the ak system is "more reliable". if an ak really is more reliable than a Stoner weapon it is because, as stated, looser tolerances not system design. pistons need clearance to function, which is why the ak is manufactured to looser tolerances. there is a running debate in the AR community whether a Stoner weapon ever needs it's gas system cleaned.

-the AR piston is a solution to a non-existent problem. hence the need for marketing.

So vdubber - I'm looking for a 10/22 and there's several usually for sale locally, already built some. Anything to look out for, wear-wise? They seem the most popular and although there are other alternatives (CZ, Savage, etc.), it seems most appealing. Long term, I'd love to pick up a 77/22 as well which could share the 10/22 mags and then ultimately their Gunsite Scout Rifle once familiarized with bolt-action.

Also, I'm interested in a 9mm (mostly for fun / target shooting, but also would be good to have around the house in case). My preference is leaning towards a Beretta 92A1 - and have plans to shoot a friend's 96FS in a few weeks. The obvious suggestion will probably be a Glock 17/19 but not as interested in them, plus a family member is getting one already. (Therefore switching and trying the other's is pointless, ha)

The 10/22 is a great gun. Fun, accurate, cheap to shoot, and easy to custom. I personally own one.

In 2007 Ruger changed the internals to plastic from Aluminum. It really does not affect the gun but I personally would buy an older one or buy replacement parts. But all in all one of the best 22s on the market.

As far as 9mm goes. The 92FS is a good accurate gun. Fun and well built. A bit on the heavy side but shoots smooth. I have a friend that owns one and I have shot it many times.

I would personally have a Browning Hi Power over the Beretta. The Hi Power is just an amazing built pistol and many say the best 9mm ever built.

Perfect. I'll see if I can try out the Browning.

This thread (and a crap ton of online reviews and video) helped me find the right 22lr handgun for me. I could not be happier with the SR22, a better version of the P22 and felt great in my hands (better than the 22/45 Lite I was considering). A family member got a Mkiii hunter and it definitely is easier to shoot more accurately but I don't enjoy it as much. But it was good to check it out as well as the Walther prior to purchase.
