Personally I am not a fan at all of anything apple.... I had a 30gb ipod video and could not stand it. There was nothing more confusing to try to understand how they work than the apple products... since they do not come with any kind of instructions at all. And when using with microsoft software it just seems to complicate things a bit. I am sure this phone is no different than the ipods and is nothing more than a vanity item. I hope verizon NEVER offers them in the future

Have you guys seen ebay lately? There's one right now with 6 minutes left that's up to $1500, and several that are "Buy it Now" for $900-1000.

AT&T really had themselves prepared, too. They sold so many, they weren't even able to activate them all! There are still people that bought them that haven't been able to activate them yet, who right now are sitting at home with a $600 paperweight. Way to go Apple/AT&T!
I don't know, call me a hater. I just think it's completely overdone, overhyped and over the top. I'll wait 3 years, and get one when it's the free phone you get for starting a new contract.
From the way it looks this thing would take a bullet for you and still work, and be shiny at that.
I know you were probably joking about the free phone bit as well, but part of the 5 year contract on the iPhone is that AT&T cannot decrease the price of the phone or offer it without a 2 year contract whatsoever during the 5 year contract they have with apple. So you will be shelling out 4-600$ for an iphone for the next 5 years, the only thing that will change is when your contract is starting and what kind of features you get based on what the current release of the phone is.
I'm waiting for them to address a couple of issues before picking one up, probably in 6-8 months.

I agree with the overhype. But it is great and durable. I actually dropped mine on a tile floor in the mall i got it in within 15 minutes of getting it. Didnt skip a beat. Everyone that doesnt think its easy to use or better than every phone on the market really need to go to an apple store and try it. I feel very comfortable using all the phones features in less than a day. My razr and chocolate took a lot longer to master. You guys may not like it but at least give it credit it does a lot of things very well and is also easily the best standalone cell phone Ive had without the other features.
and no the post wasnt from the phone... i cant spell. Good thing it auto corrects.e30sport.net

Until the Iphone has 3G, installable applications (not talking about WEB 2.0) and Exchange Activesync support (which Apple did license from Microsoft) I'll pass.
I played with one, and the internet speed is horrid, it reminds me of the piss poor GPRS Days on T-Mobile. On my EVDO 6700/Sprint I'm pulling 2Mbit downstream without a challenge, and my phone is 2 years old.
The Iphone is an Ipod with a telephone in it, and was not even built to be a good business PDA. I'll pass, but I'm happy you enjoy it.
