We have a 70-200 F/2.8L IS and use it fairly regularly. It is a hell of a piece of glass.

Nothing compares in pure "WOW" factor to the 85mm F/1.2L. It's simply amazing. The size of the front glass on it is HUGE. Pictures are also gorgeous.

It's a heavy little sucker though.

See, there's the misconception. If you open up to F/1.2, your depth of field is SO SHALLOW that it's almost useless.

So it's not like it works in super low light conditions any better than an IS 24-70.

Also, calling something impractical because it's a prime is silly.
