I've seen Shithead before- but it's pronounced "Shy-theed", my wife and I started calling our dog shy-theed when he was acting up, until our 4 year old son started asking what it meant.....

Seen on the local news recently: A young black woman being interviewed about something on the news- a building fire I think- and they ran her name at the bottom of the screen- it was "Babygirl Johnson", I guess her momma couldn't come up with a name before they left the hospital- so she got stuck with the default name used for all newborns.

"Creative" names is one thing, but what's up with the creative spelling and pronounciation of some of these names?? Kinda defies everything I ever learned about the English language, maybe Ebonics has a different set of rules??????

And something that may be a southern thing, at least I hear it around here all the time. Instead of "where do you live?", it's "where you stay at?"- with the correct answer something like "I stay wif my aunt down 'round Morgan skreet, but sometimes I be staying wif my babymomma over by the hospital".

And what about the kids who were named Orangejello and Lemonjello?? Pronounced "O-ron-jello" and "Le-monjello". At least that's what I heard.

I knew a kid named Lemonjelo, pronounced Lemon-jello. He was probably some orphaned Bill Cosby creation.

Maybe he should create a show "Black parents do the darnedest things"

I heard something like that in line at mcdonalds. But my city is divided into sides so the answer was "I stay over on the eassiiiiide"
