Nope, id head off to another country, cause if theres a draft then there are far worse things going on in the world.
Not only that, but i would not hesitate to kick your ass onto the boat. If you're going to take the time to make a post/poll on a topic with many different [intelligent] answers make sure the grammar is in order.

Yes you can get in while being colorblind. You are barred from certain jobs.
Yes you can be enlisted with a felony record. You will not be given a security clearance and you will be barred from certain jobs.
There are a few rare and odd disqualifiers that even with those you can still manage to get in. I have a nastagmus (i think thats how its spelled) which is an automatic disqualifier but I managed to evade being put out in reception, boot camp and also at my first duty station.
I'm a firm believer that everyone should have to spend at least one year in the military. If you are "too smart" then you should be an officer and lead. If you are a worker then you should be an infantryman. There are 212 jobs from plumber to mortarman. So I don't want to hear about they have nothing to offer.
I'm in my 5th year in the military. I've never spent a full year at home station yet. I have 2 children and a wife. I'm seeing Iraq for my 2nd time right now. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Man up or go to jail. Don't run. Don't hide. Be a man. Its honestly a lot easier than you think now adays. People get stuck on the idea of the unkown and get scared. I've had my fair share of small arms fire, rockets, mortars and everything in between come raining down on me. I'm still here. I don't LIKE it...... but I do what I gotta do and get the job done.

Is "ROB" - "Run Over the Border"? Serious - I don't get it. I'd still honor my obligation of citizenship & go to war, just wondered what it was.
I can't believe we don't have more guys who think big guns are cool & with free ammo - heck, I'd almost feel guilty taking a paycheck.
It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

Those who want to go into the military should be thanked and praised for their service. Those who don't want to go into the military should be allowed to persue their own dreams and not be ostracized.
Sounds like kind of the system we have in place today, which seems to be working well. If they were to change the system (i.e. reinstate the draft), I would be on the next plane out of the country with my E.U. passport in hand.
That's 110% my opinion, though. Everyone's got one, and most of the time we're allowed to express them. Part of what makes this country great.

Not kidding - if you are unwilling to answer the call when your country asks you to give back, you are not deserving of citizenship and the benefits thereof. If you are concerned that the nation is going in the wrong direction, do something about it. Get off your dead ass, quit pissing and moaning and get active - vote, campaign, lobby, whatever. That is the benefit of this society - you can get out there and make your voice heard. If enough of you feel the same way, maybe we can become Canada, too.
I will say that in my opinion the draft is not the answer to any of the questions currently on the table.
However, I also believe that we as a people need to lose the prevailing entitlement mentality - JFK had it right. Stop thinking about serving yourself, start thinking about what you can do to serve your country. You don't have to join the military to serve, there are lots of ways to give something back. We did not become the greatest nation on earth by sitting back and waiting for roses to fall out of the sky.
Another benefit to living in America - you can move to whatever socialist country you want to, and we generally won't stop you. Please, avail yourself of the opportunity before we take it away.
You do realize that Finland does have a draft, right? And that it's not random, it's everyone...John in MD - 1991 318is
