David Green winningist record in NCAA history.
If you don't realize this you may want to re-evaluate your status as a college football "spectator".
Read that. Then get back to me. I have more incredible stats about the 3rd best team in the nation as far as this BS ranking goes.
Let's be honest, I am all for teams making money, GA makes a ton for it's alum. But the thing is, I live in a conference where losses are inevitable. Teams down here do not blow each other out, they can't set up easy conference schedules in order to make money and keep their alums happy. Georgia alums are more than happy with what the dogs have done with Richt at the helm, trust me I know. As far as the Hillbilly comment goes, you're a Mich. fan, I wouldn't start throwing stones. As far as your undefeated season goes, sorry man you will have to wait.
If Ga ends up playing Mich in a bowl game I would be interested to see the outcome, and I would be interested to watch you watch the game.

In a couple years, you think Georgia will be relevant? They were at the end of this year, and the beginning of this year. They already dont matter to people, thus the slipping to #3. USC and OSU SHOULDNT face tough regular season oponents, I already discussed that. What they do gets them to the championship games, so why not? They dont lose, and they make money for their schools. It's what this is all about, for those related to the schools. If you have an affiliation with Georgia, youd understand what USC and OSU are doing, and would want to replicate that. We are just spectators, so we want to see the better games for our pleasure.
I have a question: What was the last impact Georgia had on the college football scene?Leave a comment:

Definitely not comparing the two, just trying to call attention to the hype that the media puts on teams that go undefeated with weak schedules. It will be funny to see what USC does in a couple of years now that GA is playing a PAC10 team during regular season. I doubt that will fit an SEC team into their precious schedule for fear of a loss. The problem with GA not going undefeated is this: if they have one loss, they won't play for 1st or 3rd. If OSU or USC has one loss, they will. It's always been that way.So youre comparing USC to Hawaii, thats a LITTLE different lol. Hawaii doesnt even have Brennan anymore, so thats a totally different team Florida beat.
Did I say the SEC isnt the most challenging ever? "USC may be as fast as GA, but if there is a matchup this year, GA will win". You give no support. I hate USC, and I really dislike SEC Hillbilly elitists.... but USC would pound Georgia. Shit, OSU would be Georgia, if OSU had Beanie Wells running the ball.
But who needs all these hypotheticals? Georgia WILL NOT go undefeated, USC probably will. USC will be in the championship game, Georgia will not. Maybe if Georgia is lucky, they can play OSU in a bowl game, in which theyd get stomped. Especially if Terrell Pryor (who should be at Michigan) starts to play like he can.
PS: Michigan may suck, but at least we have Michael Phelps.Leave a comment:

Because they arent nearly as impressive as USC, apparently. Preseason rank is huge... But USC was only ranked 3rd. Its not like they jumped from #20. What Georgia being ranked #3 means, is they clearly arent the best team in the nation. Also, keep in mind, these rankings are all coaches polls, NOT BCS rankings yet.Leave a comment:

Wait a sec, if that is true, why is GA ranked third now when they started out 1st and are undefeated????Strength of Schedule is not as large of a factor as it previously was. So it really doesnt matter how shitty your oponents are. Your preseason rank, and your record are big deals to the BCS. Otherwise BSU woulda played for the title when they beat OU in the Fiesta Bowl (prior to that bowl, obviously).Leave a comment:

How so. Are you saying the SEC isn't the most challenging conference in the NCAA? USC may be as fast as GA, but if there is a match up this year, GA will win. Did you even watch the GA Hawaii game last year? Every sportscaster had to eat their words.
The game started out with the media saying what an upset the game would be and how Hawaii had the makings and formula to be the best team in the country, they did their "dance" to get the crowd hyped up and the "dread-heads" were slated as one of the largest threats all season.... Then the whistle blew, and GA absolutely DESTROYED them. Noshwan was unstoppable, Colt Brennen had no idea which way to turn when the ball was hiked, he just stood there and was clobbered on all sides. HE WAS CRYING ON THE SIDELINES HALFWAY THROUGH THE 4th QUARTER. College football's "cinderella story" was completly out matched for 4 quarters. And again this year, Florida stomped them. How much does it suck to have to play GA last game of the season, then play Florida the first game of the next season? Ask someone from Hawaii.
Or any SEC football team. Again, If USC was an SEC team, it doesn't matter about talent pool, it doesn't matter about money, they would have two to three losses every season. If you think they have a larger pool to draw from than the southeast (where college football is the ONLY sport people really care about) you are sadly mistaken. Look at the rosters of the SEC teams and where players come from. If USC has such pull why isn't Tebow there???? Why isn't Noshwan there??? BC they wanted to play in the SEC.
Look up Mark Rict's records, or David Green's records, Or H. Walkers, or Tebow's. Look at Auburn 5 years ago, shit look at GA last year.. If you actually watched the second half of GA's season I doubt you'd think USC had an undeniable win against them.
Win Records.
Here are the win/ loss records.
1 pac10 in the top 25 and it's USC
5 SEC in the top 25Last edited by delatlanta1281; 09-15-2008, 10:15 AM.Leave a comment:

If OSU loses a game or two in the big 10 their BCS ranking plumets, and the PAC10 is Horrible. They will have terrible BCS rankings. All the victories an undefeated USC would have would hold little BCS ranking merit.....It's all a points system and is how LSU played for the championship last year with 2 losses.
Obviously it's early yet, but an undefeated USC very well could NOT play for the BCS championship.Leave a comment:

An undefeated USC wouldnt be left out in the cold lol. Id like to see like a USC Vs. Mizzou title game.Leave a comment:

The pac 10 may end up being so bad this year that a 1 loss SEC team plays another undefeated team for the championship. Leaving USC if undefeated out in the cold....
Oklahoma and Georgia for the championship?Leave a comment:

Big Ten owns the Pac 10. Historically, the Big 10 is the best conference. A couple of our big schools are just having down times. Pac 10 has USC, and thats it. Oregon has a good year here and there, same with ASU, or UCLA.Leave a comment:

SEC > Pac 10 > Big 10 > ACC > everybody elseBlah blah blah, the SEC is better, blah blah blah. Who cares? Id do what OSU does ever year, if I had the choice. They get to the title game, which means they get more money. Thats what these programs are for, to make money. And as much as I hate USC, they would have beat Georgia this year and last. Im sure Tenn would beat them, just like Tenn beat UCLA, right? And who did Auburn lose to? USC is just as fast as any SEC team. Afterall, they have the best talent pool in the nation to pull from, and travel elsewhere to steal their talent as well.
SEC fans are ridiculous.

If USC was/ is a "real" team, they would have played Georgia in the Rose ball LY. Instead Georgia had to kick the crap out of Hawaii. Strength of schedule is a major weak point with USC. I've said it befor and I will say it again, if GA or FL or Auburn or even Tenn. were in USC's conference, USC would be beaten time and time again. Same goes for OSU. Weak ass conferences are easy to play in. I for one am not counting on GA going all the way. One loss and they are out. As far as dropping to 3rd is concerned, if they beat Arizona this Saturday they should shoot back up.Leave a comment:
